A list of ER20 Compatible Wallets Perfect for Airdrops & ICOs

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago

If you've been following my posts on airdrops you may have wondered what exactly an ER20 or ERC-20 Wallet is, as I've mentioned it numerous times but never actually discussed what it is.

Ethereum has been the blockchain of choice when it comes to ICOs and these wallets allow for interaction with the Ethereum blockchain. Token sales require this so that the network can properly interact with smart contract functions, such as transferring tokens or participating in an ICO (Initial Coin Offering).

What is An ERC20 token and wallet

So you’ve probably heard the term ERC20 Token thrown around when it comes to airdrops and ICOs, especially in the wake of the recent boom in ICO funded blockchain start-ups.

ERC stands for Ethereum Request for Comments. This is an official protocol for proposing improvements to the Ethereum network. '20’ is the unique proposal ID number.

ERC20 defines a set of rules which need to be met in order for a token to be accepted and called as 'ERC20 Token'. The standard rules apply to all ERC20 Tokens since these rules are required to interact with each other on the Ethereum network.

These tokens are blockchain assets that have value and can be sent and received, like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, or any other cryptocurrency.

There are plenty of decent ERC20 wallets out there, your list is pretty legit. I would personally recommend Lumi Wallet, been using it for almost a year. Very easy and good-looking wallet and you control your private keys. Also, their support rocks!

Thanks for the recommendation I’ll have to check out Lumi Wallet and if it all checks out I’ll add it to the list

I've heard about the convenience of online wallets, but it's hard to pick the best one. Which one do you use?

I've never heard about any of the wallets from this article, but maybe it's because I don't trade cryptocurrency, and I don't need them. Even though I still use this wallet https://walletfactory.com/en-ke/ because it's easy to make payments, transfer money to my friends, or even make international money transfers.
