It's a beautiful sunny morning on the December 21st 2017, i open Blockfolio and WOW! $1,000 in profits from the different currencies I have 'tried' out. All through the day I think of all the things I could use my profits on (holiday, downpayment for a BIKE etc).
Fast forward to 5 pm, profits down to $700 (still no worries), by 11pm am down $500, to add to my worries i had transferred BTC to try and buy in on an ALT coin, 8 hours down the line the transaction is still pending and I have missed the buy-in I wanted. It's 2 am profits still down, transaction still pending, i go to sleep.
I wake up to a bloodbath on the crypoverse, everything is just red, in 24 hrs BTC is down almost $4k taking down with it most of the ALT coins. I check the steemitke discord group and one @jeanwamdimi has already alerted the group of the drop, @mutimum the market is crashing, and like a boss @deniskj swoops in to explain what is happening.
I remember my first crypto correction around 2014/2015, I panicked and sent about 0.1 BTC to the wrong address and another 0.3 BTC went down with the exchange I was using then. I was left with so little I gave up on crypto. There is a lot of panic at the moment and I learnt the hard way what it can do, and what it can cost, so nowadays am a HODLER!!!
I don't know why the price of BTC plummeted over a 24 hr period but a bit of humour may be a whale somewhere cashed out to buy an island or a small country as a Christmas present (we may never know). I have to share this, the guy below killed it hands down!!

My take in all of this:
- Invest ONLY what you can afford to loose, greed is a vice that doesn't end well.
- Understand that the crypto market/blockchain is still new and very volatile tread carefully, learn as much as you can by yourself don''t always rely on what you hear on the WWW.
- Tether (USDT) only lost about 2% of it's value (light bulb).
As always i choose to remain steemed-up!
Gosh that twitter thread is crazy. As you said, the trick is to invest wisely. Sometimes the more the risk, the more the return or the more the loss.

Laughed my ass off unfortunately, because of that twitter screenshot. I remember when the price hit 19k I told my brother to cash out his btc holdings. It was obvious to me that the price was going up because of the hype and fickle traders would definetly jump ship in droves if there was a price instability. Luckily he listened.😀😀

It is a bloodbath again today after it rose yesterday. I guess people keep waiting for it to recover and sell
