Hello Friends!
We talk a lot about attracting new users to the platform based on the amazing community and ability to earn for content creation– but what about attracting investors solely on the unique ROI proposal?
As the crypto space continues to grow in popularity and awareness – more people will be looking for ways to invest their money into various cryptocurrencies. Of course, many will be initially attracted to Bitcoin – but after a while, most will start researching various alt coin options. I’ve even seen this with my “non-crypto” friends who are thinking of investing in the crypto market. Many of them want to find some cool alt coins they can get behind.
Passive Income through Curation
This is where I think Steem has a really unique earning proposal, even for those who don’t want to post content. When people are researching various alt coins to invest in – many of them do not offer any kind of “dividend”. NEO offers Gas and a few other alt coins have kickbacks of sorts – but for most of them, it is a waiting game to see the price of the coin rise over time.
By owning Steem, people have the ability to earn additional income from their investment through the curation reward feature. By using their Steem Power to vote on quality content, they can literally earn passive income every day from their initial investment – which will allow their Steem to grow over time.
For those who like to consume a lot of content – this may lead them to manually curate content every day and simply add Steemit to one of their “news pages or blogs” they check regularly. For those who want it to be truly passive – they can find authors that they resonate with and set them on auto vote so they are still putting their investment to work by getting curation rewards every day.
Make a Positive Difference in Other’s Lives
BONUS… they get to use their investment to positively impact others. By giving out votes every day – they are helping to support content creators on the site, even if they are not posting content themselves. Heck, they could even pick Steemit members that live in developing and third world nations and could literally change their LIVES by increasing their income through their vote.
Isn’t this kind of obvious?
I know this may sound simple, but I still thought this was an important topic to discuss. As we all have more and more friends looking to invest in cryptocurrency – we can talk to them about Steemit, not only from the author perspective – but from the great ROI opportunity they can receive on their investment, all while helping others. It’s a win, win.
Who knows, maybe once they get on the site, they will decide that they want to start posting content or comment on other’s posts and become an engaged member of the community too.
I hope you guys found this vlog to be helpful, or at least thought provoking. Sometimes the pushback I get from people on Steemit is that they don’t think of themselves as content creators. I think reframing the conversation for those people to point out the unique ROI opportunity may be a good way to go about it and help them get plugged into a super awesome alt coin.
Let me know what you guys think of this! I’d love to hear your thoughts and questions below.
Xo, Lea

Yo absolutely! I try to express to people how Steemit is such an easy way to enter the crypto space. As you said above, you don't even have to be posting your own blogs and content to be earning passively!
It's an amazing thing when you can give to the creators you enjoy, in direct support of their content. Changing lives through Steemit votes is a world I would love to live and participate in!

This is what sets Steemit ahead of the pack :)
I love the fact that you don't have to have a lot of start up capital to make something on here!

Steemit is really special that way, investing in steem is like investing in real estate not only that the price can (and will grow) but you can make money from rent. Thank you for this lesson

I like the fact that you pointed out that the investor doesn't have to post content in order for this to be a good passive investment for them and that is a good way to get investors in the platform, yet most "investors" would probably use bots that are going to upvote the most lucrative posts (imho) not the best / even most well thought out content. I mean when it comes to investments, it's all about the money, and yes I know there are some who will invest in "quality content" but I think that will be more from those who know the struggle. And yet, this platform has a lot of room for growth, and I hope and pray that it would turn out as you stated in you video. OH wouldn't it be nice!
Keep up the great work. I sub'd.

You're right... steem is indeed one of the best option. Aside from NEO, there was a SmartCash and Komodo who offer dividend just by holding the coins. The best part, investor do not require to go online. It's a setup and forget. Roughly komodo offer dividend for 24 years while SmartCash will offer dividends to the next hundred years.

Steemit is definitely at a great space whereas social media is still developing and in focus as well as decentralized applications and blockchains. We should take our time to invest in ourselves and what better way than Steemit! Thanks for the content!

I like how you thought about marginality utility and how to 'sell' crypto and this platform to outsiders in the crypto space, thanks for your well thought out contribution.

Steemit is such a unique thing, I still haven't quite wrapped my head around it.
You make a very good point from an investment angle. As I've thought of people I know, that I could potentially introduce Steemit to, but I've hesitated, due to them not being "bloggers" or interested in posting content.
It will be interesting to watch how things evolve. :)

Yes I think more people need to be on this platform as it is already way better than other social media platforms in my opinion.

I talk to other content creators about Steemit, and mention it on YouTube, Facebook Twitter, family gatherings lol I tell people that I post my content on Steemit and earn more income than I do from contracts. It's true, it gets their attention, and if they're interested, they go there. So many people are still too sceptical, they think they will lose out on all the likes on Facebook or something.
