Wonders from Germany in the world of media trading: meet MILC by Welt der Wunder TV

in cryptocurrency •  6 years ago

While I am adding these lines, the MILC project token sale draws to a close, and it looks like the fund-raising goal will be achieved. This is one of the most successful blockchains in Germany and Switzerland in 2018, but a wonder, of course, is not hidden in this. Welt der Wunder TV has been working since 1996 after all and sells quality media content to all the world's leading suppliers. So why should its new crypto-currency start-up be destined to fail? Believe my experience, this will not happen.

Something big is going to happen!

Who is Welt der Wunder TV and what is their objective?

The company, which stays at the head of the MILC project, is one of the largest producers and broadcasters of media content in the second largest market in the world - the German market. But as a manufacturer, they do not have much influence on the end-user and are forced to work with a large number of intermediaries, starting from international flights and ending with paying agents for finding buyers. From this, either the program budget becomes overwhelmingly huge, or the quality of the content suffers. And the todays viewer wouldn't eat this crap. The viewer wants something inexpensive and cool!

How would they solve this?

That's why the MILC team was created: in the autumn of 2017 they have presented the project of a blockchain where the connection between the producer and the consumer of television and Internet shows will be direct.

The platform will not give all of us any fresh start! Immediately after the launch it will be already filled with some content. The gross value of the archives of the project has already exceeded 200 million euros – there will be provided original content for this amount, and this is only in Germany. The project is unique in its essence and can become the largest standard in the world licence trade for broadcasting, VOD and TV advertising.

How will the licensing policy change?

We can ask otherwise: how much control there is over the sphere of relations in the blockchain from a legal point of view? There is an answer: in 2018 it continues to develop rapidly, and there is nothing to fear for license buyers. The process of acquiring licenses in the international trade of TV content will be simplified, according to the developers of MILC. In many respects it happens due to the erasure of language barriers, the absence of intermediaries and the growth of product quality. After all, the cost of the license is also affected by the status of the broadcast (primary or secondary), coverage geography and other factors, and the use of a blockchain will reduce the costs for that, right?

Components of the MILC system

The developers of MILC project are going to create their “Brave New Wonder” on the basis of 2 components:

  1. Cloud type video storage;
  2. Smart contracts for licensing and payment transactions.

A typical scheme for any blockchain organization, you say. However, it works efficiently and reliably, allowing you to determine the market price of the content, without the pressure of intermediaries. It is also possible to sell the rights to several owners.

The tangible benefits of MILC

There will be many of them, I mean, it is still difficult to imagine all the benefits of future trading licenses through the blockchain. It is already clear what each side wins:

  1. Customers pay less for licenses, because they contact directly with the producers. Commission, which normally reaches up to 50%, is reduced to an acceptable flat free 10%;
  2. Money of clients are protected by a system of smart contracts, freezing of assets is not required;
  3. Manufacturers can safely create a quality product using the entire budget;
  4. The state also wins, while taxes still are paid. Remember, that it is not about crumbs, the market of the world television industry in 2018 will exceed 500 billion euros, according to experts.

All parties benefit by concluding an agreed and verified smart contract. After all, it is often spent so much time on coordination. From his side, CEO Hendrik Hey adds that the producer is important for the team, and they work to manages the better access for him to the market.

Team of the Project

MILC partners

While the company is collecting funds, there must be any storage for video content. For this will be used the Amazon AWS resources, as well as the storage of German providers. The largest partner of the project is a wholly owned subsidiary of Swiss public television, the Swiss software developer SwissTXT. It also provides support in the distribution of video content. The second partner is the Swisscom Blockchain AG which participates in the ICO and is the guarantor of execution of operations with tokens between the parties of the client and the producer. in view of the fact that both companies are Swiss, the location of the future blockchain offices is obvious. But so far, the headquarters is based in Munich.

What do you need to know about ICO MILC?

CEO and moderator of the project Hendrik Hey has already announced the placing of more than 5000 hours of high-quality broadcast content in the archive, that is more than 10 000 videos. In order to raise funds for launch, a large-sale campaign is underway to sell MILC tokens. Which are based on the Ethereum platform, ERC-20 type. The total MILC minting was limited to 40, 000, 000 tokens, from that 20, 800, 000 go to ICO. Pre Sale and Main Sale lasted almost all the summer. The Public Sale stage begins starting from September 1, where the price of the token will be €4.79 EUR / $5.54 USD.

Afterword and some more information about the project

There is no soft cap, got that? According to the creators, the project will be implemented in any case. Also there are discounts given to investors willing to invest more than 100 000 USD. ICO with origin in Switzerland is a good signal, because from this prosperous and tranquil country are growing the most promising and trustworthy businesses. Perhaps, keeping pace with the modern technologies, the blockchain will even switch to Corda R3 or HyperLedger, but now and yet the ERC20 marker is running on the Ethereum. For any questions, I recommend you to apply immediately to the MILC Telegrams: they answer pretty quickly.

Welt der Wunder TV is planning the world's first blockchain solution for the international trade of media licenses. I read that MILC is an ICO launched by Welt der Wunder to design an innovative blockchain-based license, trading and sales platform for good quality video content. It will cater to the international broadcasting, online publishing sectors, and VOD.

MILC helps producers by providing global markets access to their content by exposing it so that it can be acquired by global content purchasers. This allows the producers to go forth creating unique content, as there will always be a demand due to the content being exposed to a greater number of viewers.

Welt der Wunder is in the process of deploying a blockchain-based platform targeting the licensing and content distribution systems, while tokenizing the media industry.

The MILC or micro-licensing coin aims to utilize tokenisation to bring security to media content. I heard that ,Welt der Wunder, a renowned business in the media industry, is one of the leading brands in the German television. I hope that the creators MILC will get everything

In this project, the main thing isn’t to stop. Example, Hendrik Hey is known as the man who makes science understandable for us all in his “Welt der Wunder” series. Yet even he is stumped by some problems. Like recently when he wanted to supply a fellow broadcaster with a minute’s worth of picture material. Valued at CHF 1,500 on paper, he was faced with negotiations worthy of a business deal involving millions. “The contracts went back and forth, they were amended, and revised again. In the end I was tempted to say: ‘You know what, just take it for free.’”
