▪️In order to vote military members will only need a regular Apple or Android smartphone and an approved State or Federal ID. The objective behind using blockchain technology is to offer a more secure, straightforward, and irrefutable solution than the current mobile voting system. The voting will be restricted like mentioned above to two counties: Harrison County and Monongalia County. The Secretary of State Mac Warner said in a statement “West Virginia is taking the lead in proving safe, secure and accurate voting systems to encourage voter participation at every level.” This move can be contributed towards the 2016 presidential election, where Warner stated “We’re working hard to increase the level of confidence citizens have in our election process. Increased confidence results in increased participation.” This voting venture is a joint effort between the Office of the Secretary of State of West Virginia, Voatz, Tusk/ontogomery Philanthropies, New America and the Blockchain Trust Accelerator.
