I've experimented with a few staking coins, and one of my favorites is PIVX. Not only is it a very good privacy coin, but it has dedicated developers and fans. Now, for me since I am staking on a budget, it wasn't worth it to do it the traditional way. Here's a link to wallet setup, if you want to try it:

You can also stake PIVX at Stake United.. This is what I decided to do, and after a couple of days, I started getting stakes. Not only should you get a larger return being in a bigger pool, but you don't have to deal with running the wallet, electricity costs, updates, etc.
PIVX also has a great community, so keep an eye out on their social media channels for giveaways, or ways to earn PIVX as a #PIVXFan.
