On March 21 is commemorated the world day of Down Syndrome, which is the mutation of the pair of chromosomes number 21, a natural combination, which has effects on learning style, physical features or health.
The World Day of Down Syndrome is celebrated to promote awareness of the condition and make known the needs that it causes, since most people born with Down syndrome tend to have associated conditions such as heart disease, language problems, intellectual disability, among others.
In December of the year 2011 the General Assembly, designated this as the World Day of Down Syndrome, date with meaning, since this condition is due to an extra chromosome in the number 21, so it was designated for March 21 (21 - 03).
Celebration of the World Day of Down Syndrome
As part of the commemoration of the World Day of Down Syndrome, in Hermosillo, Mexico, activities are being held from March 11 to 25, in order to raise awareness, promote and provide information and tools on the development of people with this condition, to the Mexican population.
World Day of Down Syndrome teens children holiday
The SD Hermosillo group are responsible for the programmed activities, among which are three workshops at CRIT and at the University of Sonora, totally free, where tools will be provided to parents of children with this condition of life.
On the other hand, the workshops will address topics such as introduction to literacy, early stimulation and experiences of parents, with the aim of having feedback, by parents and explain their roles within the family.
In the same way, to continue celebrating World Down Syndrome Day, on March 19 there will be an annual coexistence in Parque Madero and on March 21, the Mass in honor of all the people with this condition in the Templo de la Holy Trinity of the journalist colony, at 7:00 p.m.
To close with the commemoration activities, will be held on March 26, a cultural and artistic day, with folk dances, theater, modern dances, dance of the deer and participation of outstanding athletes, everything will be in charge of people with Down Syndrome .

Spain also celebrates the day of Down Syndrome
The Castellón Down Syndrome Association and Foundation, together with the Torresport company and with the collaboration of the City Council of the capital, organized a day of activities in the Plaza Mayor on Tuesday, March 21, to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day .
The motto used is "Change your look" about this condition, this initiative aims to celebrate this important date, and give a vision to the Spanish community about people with Down syndrome of Castellón and its reality, changing the perspective that society has, and making them see reality.
Among the activities that will be developed to celebrate the World Day of Down Syndrome, stand out magic performances, creative makeup workshops, beads, balloon twisting, storytelling, zumba classes, plays by the Down Syndrome group of Castellón, activities recreational and variety of initiatives.
