The naming conventions used inside the InvArch protocol and associated code are being updated significantly.
There have been several changes, as shown in the graph above. This post will break down these modifications to avoid any misunderstanding. It is critical that all readers become acquainted with the words listed below.
IP Files (IPFs) are non-fungible and authenticated files that store IP. These were previously known as IP Tokens, but the name has been changed to reflect a more accurate description of the data being generated. IP Files, as they will be referred to in the future, are indexed and cross-referenced with other IPFs to confirm authenticity and/or detect plagiarism.
IP Sets (IPS) are bonded sets of IP Files that are stored together. There is no change here, and IP Sets as they were formerly known remain unchanged.
IP Tokens (IPTs) are fungible tokens with programmable usefulness that are tied to a certain IP Set (IPS). Please accept our apologies for referring to IP Tokens as individual IP Files; nonetheless, this modification was made to reflect a more appropriate definition for tokens that are tied to an IPS. IPOwnership tokens (IPO) are no longer in use, and will instead be referred to as IPTs in the future.
IP Modules (IPMs) are a collection of interconnected custom Substrate Pallets that enable IP functionality to integrated parachains. This is a relatively new term to learn about. Other parachains will be able to add IP capabilities thanks to IPMs, but more crucially, IPFs created this way will have a record of their data relayed over the Polkadot relay, where it will be indexed and cross-referenced for authenticity.
- IP tokenization, ownership, utility, and authentication are all covered by the InvArch Validation Standard (IVS), which is a cross-chain standard. IVS is a Level 0 standard for confirming and maintaining the uniqueness of all digital assets in web 3.0. They can be minted as IPFs and have their data fingerprint indexed, cross-referenced, and secured forever, whether they be code modules, music files, Whitepapers, or even other NFTs.
Time will be spent correcting/updating the InvArch documentation, Medium Articles, and other channels of provided information to reflect these changes as time permits.
