In conjunction with the FIFA World Cup 2018, GCOX has organised a social media challenge where contestants stood a chance of winning 2 all-expenses paid trip to Moscow to watch the Finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup from the comfort of the VIP box next to Mr Michael Owen, who is also GCOX’s Investor, Advisor and Superstar Celebrity.
Dubbed the Celebrity Impressions Challenge, contestants were tasked to create a video of themselves impersonating their favourite celebrity and post on the GCOX social media platforms. The best impression with the most views and likes will be adjudged the winner.
With a host of impressive creative edits, interesting plots, surprising twists and funny turns, the entries from the contestants were nothing short of amaazing. Ranging from impersonations of Arnold Schwarzenegger to Chris Tucker, Katy Perry to Freddie Mercury of Queen, Gareth Bale to even Barrack Obama, it was obvious that the contestants didn’t pull any punches in making the most impressive celebrity impressions that they can think of.
Yet, it was the impressions of Donkey from the movie Shrek that garnered the most number of views and likes in our online poll on Instagram. The winning entry came from Marvo94.

The FIFA World Cup runs from June 14 till July 15th 2018, where the Finals is expected to be played in front of a sellout crowd at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. Several of GCOX’s senior management along with Mr Michael Owen will be at Russia to catch the Semi Final matches at St Petersburg and the Final in Moscow.
