Once Around The Crypto Merry-Go-Round

And by that I mean, turbo Gravitron on crack.

Yesterday marked my one month dip into the crypto world. Christmas eve, and all through the house, people were stirring, while I was using my computer’s mouse.

I downloaded a podcast and binged the episodes, learning all that I could. What’s a wallet, who is Coinbase, and how it all stood. How does an exchange work, are there any goodies in my stockings?

I was hooked. Took the crack by the spoonful. Made my first trade. Back when TRX went for .03 Wow, that was only a month ago. A thus went the rollercoaster. Hands in the air, red days! Green days! Red days!

Bloody Tuesday! Jan 16th. Frantic, panic, I didn’t know what kind of world I was in. The crypto market felt like an abusive relationship. And I kept getting smacked and dizzy riding this carnival ride. I recalled hearing on CoinMastery, that markets are designed to take your money. Ah, the bleeding continued. I freaked and bailed. Lesson learned. And more lessons followed. Many mistakes were had that first month. So much spent in transfer fees, so many regrets were had.

The beautiful thing I learned was how to navigate the environment. How to get in, move around, and get out. It impressed me, this power of the new blockchain technology, I was able to move my currency from wallets, to exchanges, to wallets within minutes and have a deposit sent to a checking account. Though it wouldn’t arrive for 5-ish days. @velveteendream had a hard time believing I was even playing with real currency of any value, like a video game, until she saw the new balance in the checking account. This shit is real.

No less than 24 hours after having a near panic attack, I needed back in. Addicted, maybe, but the market was down. And the buying time was ripe. So I tried to buy back in.

DENIED.

WHAT?!? 9 days until funds would be available. What the fuck Coinbase? I was locked out. Shit, it was even going to take over three days for funds to be moved from a savings account into a different checking account. Fiat moves at an incredibly slow rate. The market would be a different wild beast in 9 days. I couldn’t wait that long. I was burned.

The speed of modern banking:

So, in retrospect I was able to utilize the blockchain to move and navigate funds fluidly within minutes from address to address. A very impressive technology. Whereas modern banking and federal currency is feeling like a dusty ass old rusty truck choking down a highway unable to keep up with the speed limit. Honk honk mother fucker!

So, I sat down with my little buddy Kaboo and tried to figure out how to get back on that merry-go-round.

I feel your pain. I wish I could just buy stuff with cryptos already besides with BTC. Fiat and old world banking really sucks in so many different ways!

Sometimes the future does come fast enough.

I see you’re a climber 🤘 rock on man!
