German bank payment service provider Bitwala announced that it has launched a new crypto-banking banking service - “crypto-first”, consisting of bank accounts, international bank accounts (IBAN), SWIFT codes and corresponding MasterCard debit cards, said Cointelegraph Deutsch 2 days before.
An application process with the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) is currently underway to approve the project. The payment service provider emphasizes that German deposit insurance will protect client funds for up to 100,000 euros.
The service, called "blockchain banking", will offer Bitwalas' customers a complete Bitcoin and other cryptos users trading and payment package. By integrating bank accounts, the service will also allow for normal bank transfers and the use of credit cards.
This is Bitwala's second attempt to offer debit cards for cryptographic computers. Earlier plans were thwarted when Visa ceased trading with the Wavecrest debit card provider. Almost all of the crypto card providers have suffered some limitations from large credit card corporations.
