If you have ever heard of a ponzi scheme mining site, then you have probably heard of Spacemining.io.
Many people on YouTube did videos on Spacemining.io, many thought it was scam, but it was profitable IF you got in early.
People like CryptoRobert warned against ever sending even a satoshi to this site, and had evidence to back it up.
Anyways, if you visit the website you can see their homepage, it looks pretty simple.
I, of course, am logged in but you'd see the Sign in or Sign up buttons.
They promise a free 100GH/s of mining power just for signing up! The twist? It will basically make nothing and you have to make a deposit of at least 1.5mBTC (0.0015 BTC) before being able to make a withdrawl. This website promises a 10 day ROI, and you get 1 TH/s of mining power for $15. Pretty sweet deal, right? Yeah, but it's a scam. The three people that supposedly are the faces of the company are: Lewis Wright, Lei Wang, Daniel Rocha Santos, along with pretty professional looking pictures.
"But of course, Hydroid, they're giving you their names, so they must be real, right?" You might ask. WRONG! You can easily google search these three images and find out they are all on Getty Images.
"But they have a company registration, so that must be something, right?" You might also ask. Again, WRONG! If you use Google Maps to find the address, you'll find it's just a professional building that houses many businesses, so no mining is going on there.
People on YouTube have said that they do pay, but it's been 24 days since it opened and it can close at any time, so be careful.
If you feel like investing in this site and taking a huge risk, it's up to you. But considering the 10% referral system, and the contracts last forever, I'd stay away from the sight.
Thanks! Great to be alerting people to this type of thing. It not only hurts individuals but the community at large!
