New Years & First Hand of 2019 - CoinPoker (CHP)

in cryptocurrency •  6 years ago  (edited)

Three card draw actually tonight, NIO, INXT and a new opening position of CHP.

The other two, just looking to re-enforce existing positions, i must admit, there was a dreamlike buy opportunity for PRIX this-morning, hit a low of 0.05c USD, sadly, or gladly, depending on how you look at it, someone picked it up before i headed home for the night, dropped a pretty penny, she went up 950% back up to around 0.55c.

Instead, i substituted my hand, and rolled INXT instead, i have been focusing on Nexus accumulation the past few months, but Q1 2019, i really want to focus on accumulating a lot of these small cap or undervalued tokens, while this bear market lasts.

NIO (Autonio) was at to good of a buy to be passed up, and i had been wanting to re-enforce my stack of that for a while, glad i waited to find today's price, its about the lowest it has ever been.

Is the bear market over? Not sure folks, just being honest, so you always gotta be careful with these buy positions, as has been true over the past few months, a lot of people excited about BAKKT, but i seriously don't think that alone is going to be as big of an influence of people hail it to be, besides, what news do we have after that on the horizon thus far?

Its day by day folks, new year, new markets, but don't lose your shirt.

Now i have a new contender for consideration, CoinPoker (CHP)

Opened a new position with it tonight, bit of a gamble, but not without a story.

Ill keep the story short and sweet, as honestly, its getting late, I had been exposed to online poker in my time, used to be a big fan of TigerGaming before it had issues in my country, online poker, as an industry, used to be pretty big, and i have always been a fan of the card game, all be it, admittedly, not to great at it.

Come New Years Eve 2018, i finished work and retired to home and a few of my gamer friends came around for a bit of a poker night (none of them are into crypto) we were using coins for chips and i laughed and said "heck i should bankroll these coins with Webchain as an incentive in the future"

The night progressed, Skitz, Redus, Myself with noticable appearance from Lizard, had an interesting night of cards, Texa's Holdem, was fun, good new years eve, saw fireworks and what not, and managed to down like a 15 year old bottle of 2 litre black douglas scotch between us? good times to be sure.

I don't think anyone really won in the end, we just sort of all stumbled off to look at the stars and they were like "Kashmir, whats that bright one!" at 5:00am in the morning "and i was like, that, gentlemen is Saturn!" and after arguing that it was far to late, and we were far intoxicated for me to break out the telescope to look at her rings, we all passed out.

After a fine breakfast, cooked by the one and only chef Redus, my friends departed, and i was left thinking about how interesting a Crypto Poker project would be.

I knew of, and have dabbled with the well known FunFair in the past, but the total circulating supply at its current point always kept me away, but i researched as someone looking to play, rather than invest, and came across CoinPoker (CHP)

From an investment point of view, its an interesting makeup, they have a product, interesting team of poker enthusiasts and a unique value proposition, of fair gaming etc.

But, new years day, i decided to throw all that to the wind and adopt another investment research approach, forget the TA, forget the fundamental or sentimental analysis, lets just throw $20 down and see how the dam thing works, does it work, the product, is it fun?

Very different investment research strategy with this one, i just sat down at the table, and, after a few hours, despite being down a bit, i had a few hours laughs while listening to music, playing some good times Texa's holdem.

Now is it a good investment position? i say its a risky one, but a card worth played, why? they launched in a bear market, they brought a product to market in a time when nothing was doing anything other than going down, the total circulating supply is not, to crazy high, that one could not expect to see returns in a bull run and, the product is functional.

Only negative criticism, i would give, and something that may be a pain for people, is it takes a few hoops to jump to get it rolling, you first have to register to their sites app, which is easy enough, but you then have to register for an exchange that sells the tokens, which means you have to buy and transfer from a faucet exchanged like coinbase, transfer, buy and then, transfer OUT to a compatible ERC20 waller to make the exchange in.

Now admittedly, for someone like me, was a breeze, but i can easily see how this would be a pain in the ass for your average poker player who knows nothing about crypto, that said, i have no doubt in my mind, the CHP team will be looking to make it easier with time.

Is it a good position? Well, if you look at FunFair and the gains it was afforded in the last bull run, with no clear working project other than the abstract, here you have with CoinPoker a fully functional platform, with a dedicated team of poker players and tech enthusiasts, trying to bridge the gap.

Controversially, with this one, i suggest bucking the norm, if you have yourself a coinbase account, register with KuCoin, throw $20 down, send it across to your ERC20 wallet then back into the platform, pour a glass of something and put on an album and enjoy yourself, if you do, you will see, while with tweaks and improvements, its a platform that could go somewhere.

Is it the best investment of 2019? no probably not, but its sure as heck a fun first hand to play in my first 3 card draw of the year.

Sit down, have a game, decide for yourself, even if your not interested in taking out a position as an investment, its a nice recreational crypto place to relax if your into that sort of gambling / card game, buy in's are low, and you can honestly get quite a lot of longevity out of just the same $20 or something you would spend on fast food or whatever, if your not like ... the worst poker player in the world.

And remember, gambling winnings are generally tax free in most western countries, something to keep in mind.

Try it out, invest don't invest, but if you ever were a fan of online poker, or like the idea, having used the platform for a day, i can say, its quality.
