BEWARE! Wipplex Wallet Will Steal Your Ripple (XRP).

It's been about 3 weeks and I cannot remove my Ripple from a horrible wallet that I discovered!

The name of the wallet is Wipplex.

It's available from the Playstore on the Android platform.

I am writing this post to warn others about this wallet and to give a word to the wise.

This was a really frustrating experience but I learned my lesson.

Before you purchase crypto make sure that you research different types of wallets that can contain the crypto.

Since crypto currency is still in the very beginning stages there are many coins which have no wallet where you can actually store them.

My major downfall was that I did not read the reviews on this wallet before I downloaded because I was in a hurry to remove the Ripple (XRP) off of the exchange.

This wallet received very poor reviews from the people who also put their money on this wallet.

Luckily for me, I originally invested 88.087814 XRP which was a $25.00 investment

I'm sure there are others who invested WAY more than me and are now super pissed because they cannot get that money off of the wallet

Imagine if you invested thousands of dollars in a wallet to only discover that after you tried to transfer it to another wallet (or try to exchange for Bitcoin or some other currency) that you could not execute this task.

Scary thought, isn't it??

So by all means DO NOT USE THIS PIECE OF CRAP!

If you have XRP please research which wallets can hold it and and also what the user experience is.

Hard wallets (also known as cold storage) are the best option.

Hope this helps whomever is reading this.

Sucks that you can't get your money, but good that it was a minimal amount. It's just one to grow on! Hopefully your article will help others to avoid the same mistake.

It's ok @stonesteem. Just one to grow on as you stated. :)

This is scary, how many wallet platform can we trust these days now.. 🗯️😧

That is true Koshin. If you can afford a hard wallet buy one. Thats the only true secure wallet at this point in time. If not, just do your research beforehand. Thanks for replying.💯

For Ripple purchasing a hard wallet is quite unnecessary, just clone this repository to a usb along with your secret encrypted and you can do transactions from any computer with internet: https://github.com/jatchili/minimalist-ripple-client

Can't you just find another wallet and enter your private/secret key and get your XRP? I mean it should be on the blockchain, right?

I tried another wallet. When you try to send xrp it says insufficient funds. I can't get my 39 XPR from this wallet. Don't use WIPPLEX WALLET!

Says your data is saved locally, search the app files for the secret key (a long string starting with at least one s), then you have full control over the wallet via for example minimalist ripple client. If you have made several trade orders or trust lines these will bind 5 XRP each, in addition to the 20 XRP reserve.

Half year ago I sent 1000 ripple to wipplex wallet. (unfortunately I did not read the warnings). Until now I could not get it back. But a few days ago I tried again and managed to get 980 ripple again. I could not get 20 pieces back. However, I recommend not to use the wipplex wallet.
