I feel like a large pump in Bitcoin is coming this month... Take a look at Tether. There's a crap load of money parking on the sidelines. Eagerly waiting for the ride up. There's a lot of eyes on Bitcoin right now. If only Bitcoin was ready for "Prime Time" transaction wise, I feel most of that money would stay in Bitcoin.
Personally I think that Bitcoin should just stay the way it is, simple and secure. The more complexity you add to a system the more points of failure, especially open-source code. The real panacea is side-chains which is very close to fruition. That would enable proof-of-stake systems to add the speed, scale, pegged currencies, atomic swaps, etc.
I see the future of Bitcoin being more akin to a reserve currency more like digital gold. Think of it like this Bitcoin would be like a world currency and then country currencies would be DPOS systems with their own governance, treasury, laws etc. Of course this is only a way to visualize it because distributed systems have no borders.
