At the same time, Weber acknowledged that his skepticism regarding crypto-currency, apparently, "is connected with a long work in the central bank." However, the financier is firmly convinced that bitcoin only partially meets the generally accepted criteria of this category, such as currency. He said:
"The currency should be a means of payment, be generally recognized and secured. Also, it should be a means of preserving value and provide an opportunity to carry out transactions. Bitcoin, however, corresponds only to the last criterion "
