❕Main topic: Internet Infrastructure problems and NOIA Network solutions
This will be a great opportunity to have any questions about the recent Whitepapers answered:
https://bit.ly/2JKFNLt
Q (Jim Nguyen):
Authorizing small nodes will greatly reduce the load for the general system. But also posing a problem, the authorized small node will have great rights, so it will be arbitrary to edit the content, at will, maybe the "unclean" content "unclear" whether we have the ability to gender Does this risk limit?
A (Jonas):
Hi Jim, not sure I understand the question correctly, soon our node receives update and becomes programmable internet nodes, and when smart contracts are enabled they will connect to the system through smart contracts, if you’re talking about NOIA cache feature the content is encrypted and for programmable internet the traffic is forwarded as is without intervention to content
Q (Newbie):
Currently, NOIA has almost no competitors, only a few competitors have the same idea as videocoin. However, they do not have the breakthrough in applied technology, in addition, when compared with other ideas under development in the form of concentration, NOIA represents a greater superiority than the Project has a vision. far away, growing 3 years after the mainnet and spending 25% of the mobilized capital to develop in the future. Compared to other unpublished ICO projects on far-sighted vision, Noia has added a plus point in the eyes of potential investors. But in order to be successful, it also needs a lot of factors, as I think weak management of human team for such a long time is very difficult, what does this project do to overcome this difficulty, to go to Successful Future.
A (Domas):
So curretly we have a team of 22 people working full time and we've been successful in attracting very good engineering talent as well as business people.
We believe we have a very strong hand that which let us continue the development through the market crash last year.
Q (Hoang MT):
Currently, users earn NOIA through node operation, how long will NOIA take to expand the community and users around the world in many other ways?
A (Domas):
We're planning to grow node numbers substantially. As we say, we need a node in every Internet network in the world. That is an essential part for Programmable Internet to be effective.
Q (shinichi kudo):
What has been the biggest technical challenge that you overcame this year? what is it that makes $noia better day by day?
A (Jonas):
Biggest technical challenge was turning our node into Segment Routing programmable internet nodes. This involved working with Segment Routing, IPv6, virtual routers, so new nodes can join our backbone and to send traffic through. Also, we’re working to ensure our Segment Routing packets are not dropped when going through different providers. What makes us stronger every day is the development team delivering on our plans, great technology we can already show as you’ll see in our new roadmap and demos soon.
Q (Crypto maximalist):
What is underlying technology stands behind NOIA Network? Why NOIA network is superior to the existing one?
A (Bill):
Crypto - The Internet inefficiencies are handled by taking into account the performance of network paths, not just the reachability of a network. By measuring the performance across segments we learn of the existance of better network paths that can be enabled when the default Internet path is worse.
Q (Hiep Hoang):
Currently, Internet architecture has not been optimized. The quality of all software, applications, and websites is affected by Internet network activity. BGP attacks occur daily on the Internet causing security vulnerabilities and reducing translation quality. service. So, can Noia solve these problems? If yes, what technology does Noia use to solve?
A (William B. Norton):
To solve these inefficiencies we use segment routing for force traffic along a path that default Internet routing would not use. This is how we can bypass areas of packet loss and degradation. If a hijack occurs, you have some knobs to turn.
Q (Lenana Vo):
Users all over the world can access and watch free videos on some major sites such as youtube, vimeo, and download them speeds are quite fast. Therefore, demand to buy Noia's token for faster transmission is not really necessary. On the other hands, in future there will be many other projects with the same goals and possibly apply technology superior to Noia.
How do you feel about that and any solution?
A (Jonas):
The amount of content is growing at an incredible pace, and users all over the world already have problems with content delivery from popular sites like youtube etc. Everyone will be able to install our application and enjoy better internet experience which will benefit a lot of people where a connection is not best. NOIA is standardising internet infrastructure with Segment Routing protocol which is adopted by Cisco and others, DITEX will provide a platform where all infrastructure providers can connect. Also, we’re building our node network so when we launch there is a lot of routes and a huge network to choose from. This builds network effect and first movers advantage. Our goal for NOIA is to become the leading body of innovation on internet technologies and we invest in contributing development Segment Routing. Because we use open protocol anyone will be able to join and we aim NOIA to be the base layer of the internet through which networks are constructed.
Q (Kim):
I saw you guys a lot on Steemit at one point.. I'm curious like.. who are your competitors?
A (Domas):
NOIA is creating an alternative routing system on public infrastructure. No other project is trying to do that to our knowledge. It would be fair to say that we don't have direct competitors.
Q (Steemit Passion):
In case of token NOIA price drops, what the team NOIA will do to retain node runners?
A (Domas):
If the situation would change dramatically we would react and adjust the rewards to keep the node economy healthy.
Q (Crypto Maximalist):
Explain more about SR-WAN and Private SR-WAN?
Shed more light on DITEX Platform?
A (William B. Norton):
The Segment Routing Wide Area Network (SR-WAN) enables Internet attachments to share their bandwidth by becoming a node on the network. They earn coins for running the running the software and use coins when they can use the better Intenet paths enabled by the system. The Private SR-WAN is the same but for enterprises that prefer commercially run routers colocated in network dense colocation centers where they can reach 80% of the market within 25ms. These DITEX stores all segments and their corresponding network characteristics so applications can chose when to use or not use the SR-WAN paths.
Q (Rambo):
What are the difficulties you have been faced during the development of NOIA ?
How do you mitigate if a malicious group creates a signed block with bad cross-shard transactions ?
What are your security measurements if your database or research data is targeted for hack ?
With blockchain being such a young industry, partnerships are an integral component of any project’s journey. Which types of partnerships have NOIA already attained and what are the plans on this front moving forward ?
A (Jonas):
We faced many technical challenges which we overcome one by one working with teams from Cisco themselves, these are related to networks being not standardised, providers have different configurations for IPv6 etc.
This will depend on the layer 1 or our ledger consensus protocol, as currently we’ll launch smart contracts which are first ethereum compatible and consensus is ensured on layer 1 protocol.
Our data is anonimised using node IDs and wallets and is mostly internet network performance data which we will want to make public anyway on public ledger. We want to make the state of internet public and this information about connection betweeen different networks is very valuable and should be public so people can use better networks and make internet more efficient in effet.
We’re in works with several partnerships, which will be announced but we focus on strong technology partnerships where there is real mutual benefit for the projects. We work with projects which have either a strong node community, are technologically similar or solving similar problems so we can share knowledge or their product can complement NOIA as well as NOIA can comppement their users
Q (Sreevi):
Could you explain more about smart routing technique that NOIA uses and also how these optimal routes are selected?
A (Bill):
The "smart routing" is based on the data collected by the nodes when they "pulse" their state to the others in the group. This creates a mesh of one-way latency measurements. This is the basis for identifing better paths.
Q (Thao Phuong):
- The current infrastructure of the Internet does not grow fast enough to meet the needs of content distribution. So can Noia solve this problem? If so, what technology did Noia use to solve?
- Expansion of bandwidth infrastructure on a global scale will be very expensive. Does Noia face difficulties in this issue?
A (Jonas):
- Yes, programmable internet will make all of internet more efficient as it will balance the unused routes and make all cables be utilised at their max capacity. For example now businesses and ISPs route network according to their business relationships. Our solution drives more traffic to better networks spreading the load across the networks.
- NOIA currently built our own backbone to suport our clients and development. But upon launching DITEX, many networks and providers will join to make their infrastructure available. This allows people to construct networks from many different nodes and routes or let our solution use best routing from thousands of nodes so we don’t need to physically scale our own infrastrucutre which would be expensive and costly. The whole point is to connect different networks into one programmable internet network.
Q (Lavin Cavin):
About Noia Edge, you know how much the price will be, if the firmware will be open source so that a community can help in fixing the bugs, if it will be possible to have a VPN and Https connection from the outside like Fritz!Box routers and modems, what are the technical specifications and launch data in different European countries and not?
A (Jonas):
Noia Edge device was planned to run noia node on a router-like device. Soon our nodes will receive an udpate to become programmable itnenret nodes and we’ll work to havee it available on devices like raspberry pi and we also might launcha device which connects to the router and makes your home network a Segment Routing router. Most of what we do and all software which runs on peoples computers is and will be open source and we work on open sourced protocols and the ledger part will be open source so the community can be involved and help drive the project further. We also contributed to Segment Routing code and work alongside Cisco teams. Once your node can be a Semgnet Router more details will be clear on technical specs and different performance different ndoes have. We will collect node data as the first phase to map out different devices and networks and their capacity.
Q (Jay Ranchi):
As we all know, Marketing is very important, What is your marketing plans for the nearest future?
How big role Localization and Interpolability will in your business?
A (Domas):
The marketing part is definitely very important.
We believe that currently awareness of NOIA as one of the leading blockchain projects is still relatively low. That gives us a huge space for marketing and educating people to make everyone in crypto community know and understand what we do.
We'll be continuing our marketing efforts and keep on adding more channels, influencers, channels etc
Q (Lenana Vo):
According to the information I know, with content distribution network service (CDN), NOIA currently has almost no competitors, only a few competitors have the same idea as videocoin. However, they do not have the breakthrough in applied technology. Is this an advantage, so that Noia can grow stronger?
A (Bill):
The CDN market is very competitive, and serves content typically at the edge with peering or in some cases embedding in the carier data centers. A better CDN would embed content within the last mile, something enabled by the SR-WAN system. But the SR-WAN is much bigger that a CDN - it is provides a better Internet path dynamically selected when needed. Coins ensure fairness, that you can use the system as much as you share your spare bandwidth and compute.
Q (Apollo team):
We are onboarding the first batch of partner-customers who have committed to integrating NOIA Network into their existing structures and thereby helping us bring NOIA Network to an enterprise-level solution as quickly as possible.” Can you name these customers? Is Dorado one of them?
A (Jonas):
We work with several companies like Cherryservers, Adform, 100TB, Tuttotoons, SuperTree, StriveeCDN, and more with each having different use case to test our solution for their purposes. We do not have any involvement with Dorado.
Q (trieu):
Internet is a huge field, it has many chances but its also full of challenges. Why did your team start this blockchain project while there are many off-chain project works effectively out there? Which dificulities and chance did your team experience when started this project?
A (Domas):
We started this project because we found a way how the latest internet protocol innovations such as Segment Routing in combination with the blockchain can really help to solve some critical current Internet routing system problems.
We don't have any direct competitors working on that. Current off-chain solutions are tackling different problems.
Innovation in the public routing system is solely NOIA's field for now!
Q (trieu):
DITEX Platform that you are developing will be a place to sell Internet access points as i see in your whitepaper. Will the exchange use NOIA tokens for this? Also can you explain how segment routing will be used on DITEX? Also what benefit do a service provider get when he buys access points through DITEX?
A (Bill):
With respect to DITEX platform... The NOIA utility tokens are used when you make use of the better Internet path. The DITEX lists all of the available network segments in the system and their network performance. In this way, the applications can create a segment router path that uses the best segments available. The benefits to a network operator? They can monetize their spare capacity, and since network paths will be constructed with the lowest latency possible, good networks will attract more traffic and therefore earn more coin.
Q (Abdul Rahim):
How do you plan to resolve the plague resolving around your ICO'S price instability, coupled with investor's loosing money in day-trading? Furthermore, is it likely that in future countries may ban NOIA completely, as in the case of some crpto currencies, as the ICO market lacks regulation.
A (Jonas):
Our token was launched successfully according to our strategy to make it available to our community in different regions and expand our reach and community involvement. Price is not something team controlls apart from building the project, bringing ppartnerships, product, awareness and making NOIA more available to more people. NOIA token price is finding its value and we have our tokenomics paper released where you can find the model behind what NOIA will be in the future. The token has only recently been launched and listed successfully and the team will not engage in price speculations. Regarding the ban, NOIA will be a utility token used to run DITEX transactions and noia applications, our funding was done according to all regulations set in place in jurisdictions they apply and we don’t see a reason why NOIA should be restricted for their users in the future.
Q (Newbie):
great project guys. just curious, why blockchain startups move towards securing soft caps and even larger parts of token sales with VC's and private investors? as I read you also went that way. what sum have you already secured with private investments?
I know, that many large websites are using CDNs. Let’s say such website as Vimeo switches from Akamai to NOIA content delivery services. You are on mainnet and have many nodes spread already. Will I feel any difference as a user?
what does NOIA 2.0 mean? What changes has been made?
Hey, not a tech guy, but will ask. I was watching football world cup game. England and Croatia via Youtube TV and experienced an outage for about an hour. Can Noia help to solve this?
NOIA is one of the start-ups supported by the microsoft group, and many blockchain projects cooperating with NOIA, so how does this help NOIA in project development?
A (Domas):
That is a good way of financing if the project manages to secure funding from the "smart investors" who has a long term visions for their investment and will help to grow the project. This is what we did and we'll announce our private investors and how they'll help us soon.
Yes, NOIA can definitely solve some of the worst live streaming problems and make users experience much better.
Q (Lenana Vo):
Could you tell me which combination is born SRv6? and why don't you using IPv6 due to I see that IPv6 has been a global trend and is increasingly widely used with many optimizations for the Internet.
NOIA is a new generation internet-capable internet system, after more than 1 year of development, which steps have been completed by NOIA products? How many nodes are the team planning to use to maintain the network?
5G is a very important issue, although it is extremely great, but the popularity of it will be extremely difficult, so what strategy will you have so people can use your service?
A (Jonas):
IPv6 is the technology which allowed Segment Routing. Segment Routing is using features which are enabled by IPv6, namely expanded packet header design. And routers need to understand Segment Routing to. act accordingly. However if routers don’t, they will treat the packet as normal IPv6 packet. This combination of IPv6 and Segment Routing makes SRv6 - which is a network os routers whi understand both IPv6 and Segment Routing. Ipv6 adoption as you mentioned is helping to make this technology reachable to more people.
We launched NOIA Cache as a product which is a working p2p distributed content delivery system, and we successfully have more then 5k nodes downloaded and many running every day. Soon we’ll release update to make those nodes Programmable Internet nodes with noia cache integrated and will start to grow our node community more so we have a node on every network in the world to have best internet routes possible.
Good you asked, our updated whitepaper version will include our 5g plans and satellite communications. 5G will be a huge part of internet and we already building plans for 5G devices and networks to join NOIA network, so we have the route from first mile straight to the destination.
Q (Hoang MT):
Currently, NOIA has run buttons on the PC, in the future, will the group grow in the direction that will run on mobile devices or devices that can connect to the internet?
A (Jonas):
Yes, we plan to connect mobile devices to our network in the future.
Q (Tyler):
Surely adoption of the Noia network will be what ultimately makes it succeed or fail. Assuming that all technical challenges are overcome and the network performance is as expected Who are the major Partners you are planning on Onboarding in the Content delivery Space in order to drive adoption? If you can't state major partners can you mention what the expected timelines are on adoption (i.e. how fast the network plans to grow in the coming years).
A (Jonas):
We are planning to parner up with large technologies companies like Microsoft etc. who provide cloud business and tier 1-2 ISP providers to join their networks through DITEX. Then huge networks are available to be used through DITEX as well as combined with last mile nodes people run there will be more networks and routes to choose from than choosing any single provider.
In the coming years we plan grow the network to a point it is sufficient for large clients to build their network solutions on NOIA and we have enterprise partners to do that.
Q (Hoang MT):
Kucoin is a good trading platform, and the project not through the IEO makes the project more transparent. But the question is when will you plan to work with other exchanges to list NOIAs? Currently, the volume on kucoin is quite small and the token value is actually much larger than the current situation.
A (Domas):
Totally agree. We chose Kucoin because we believe it's a good place to start and grow from that point.
Currently, we're dealing with multiple exchanges and preparing strategy to move forward
The core logic of this strategy is to grow gradually: from small exchanges like Kucoin to bigger and more concentrated exchanges later. That's the most sustainable way to grow the project size we believe.
Q (Thao Phuong):
Currently, Internet architecture has not been optimized. BGP attacks that occur daily on the Internet cause security vulnerabilities and reduce service quality. This problem is extremely worrying for users. So what is the level of safety and security of Noia?
A (Bill):
Internet routing architecture is based on arms-length agreements between ISPs, where they both announce reachability to network prefixes. These BGP peering sessions only exchange information about the reachability of networks along the shortest path, ignoring quality, capacity, price. history, etc. So yes, the Internet is not optimized along these dimensions, but instead optimized for shortest path reachability of a network. It may be possible to circumvent BGP hijacks if another path to the destination can be found. If there is another network path, NOIA will find it and measure it. So for security and performance, NOIA provides some knobs.
Q (The Crypto Cop):
How is NOIA (on the blockchain) can have a huge impact than the similar centralized projects and how is it different than them?
Rather than explaining the project in complicated words, can you please share what problem is NOIA solving and why is the problem important to solve?
A (Jonas):
NOIA will provide a platform where all internet topology is public and can be used. This can only be done in a decentralised way as we don’t want anyone for internet to be centralised.
NOIA ledger will have a decentralised database and only this way internet can be smarter because you can act on knowledge in this route database. This way for people using noia network internet will be faster and they will contribute by sharing their internet and for enterprise users DITEX will be the place you can build a network from all different providers in a standardised way and have a stable and faster internet connection.
