Radio stations don't get paid by Record Labels, that's illegal even with iHeartRadio. Radio stations themselves and iHeartRadio both pay money TO Record Labels in the form of royalties. Those royalties get distributed to labels, artists, producers, etc. The business model is to create great programming that people love so they listen more so more people hear commercials from their paying advertisers.
