Vladimir Putin seems to believe in the future of cryptocurrencies...
According to a Bloomberg report few days ago, 100 millions of dollars will be invested into the developpment of Bitcoin mining. The russian company Russian Miner Coin has create a investment plan to gather the 100 M $, in which investors could buy shares with bitcoins or ethereum, and touch 18 % of the mining benefits generated by the company.
Dmitry Marinichev, Russia's internet ombudsman strongly believe that « Russia can reach 30% of the global mining markets ».
For the moment, China is the leader of pool mining, owning 80% of the mining cores in the world. The second largest miner is Iceland, with 5% of the global mining power. Third is Japan, with a shy 3%.
The 100 millions of dollars will allow Russia to get an effective and environment friendly mining equipment. However, Russia has already 20 gigawatt of surplus in its energy production, allowing to easily raise the pool mining at a very low cost.
To be continued...
These are the key players in the BRICS bank consortium . I've seen nothing to suggest their own country's moving to BTC usage . Doesn't it seem strange that the producers are not the consumers ?
