The Uber co-founder signs up for the Cryptocurrency business

The father of the controversial application that has put in foot of war to the sector of the taxi in countries like Spain has decided to enter the business of the cryptocurrencies. And it does so with the launch of a new cryptocurrency called ECO, which based on blockchain technology seeks its place in a sector with other well-established ones such as Bitcoin or Ethereum and Ripple or Stellar. One of the novelties that it contributes is the implication to university institutions in the mining process of the cryptocurrency.

Garret Camp, one of the most important emerging fortunes of Canada, thanks in particular to its success with the launch and commercialization of Uber, the application that allows to call a vehicle for the transport of passengers based on the collaborative economy, has just announced the launch of a new cryptocurrency called "Eco". Camp himself will inject 10 million dollars to facilitate the process of launching the coin, which will be done through a public launch offer in which they are expected to distribute more than 3,000 million tokens of it.

Eco will grow hand in hand with the "Eco Foundation", a non-profit organization whose objective is that this cryptocurrency solve the problems generated by other existing cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, for example its high concentration in the hands of few holders, a process of very energy-intensive mining and a constant perception of fraud related to transactions and the evolution of the price quotation. To do this, Eco will try to build a verified network, where universities and prestigious institutions are responsible for executing the nodes "(instead of volunteer miners who run the Bitcoin network) and increase the supply of tokens to avoid speculation.
