Today, I experienced my first exceptional trade in my 4 months or so of actively trading in cryptocurrency.
Steem was my gateway drug to crypto, but for my first few months here I would simply sell my Steem for Bitcoin and then hold. I was too scared to trade. A few months ago I finally decided to take the plunge.
In mid April, I invested about 0.13 BTC in Digibyte when it was selling for 69 Satoshis. In the days following that buy, I happily watched my investment grow to about 130 Sat. It was a bit of a roller coaster as is always the case with crypto, but generally I was happy with my investment.
Today, DGB saw a huge spike. I sold when I thought we had reached the peak at 265 Sat. I walked away with 0.49 BTC. That's a gain of 0.36 BTC or 376.9%. I had almost quadrupled my investment. If you take into account the drastic increase in the value of Bitcoin, you can pretty much double that again.
That's a great trade. A really great trade.
So why am I feeling sellers remorse?
As I write, DigiByte is sitting at 359 Satoshis. I sold too early. So here I am, sitting, watching Poloniex and dreaming of what might have been.
May I offer some advice?
DON'T BE LIKE ME!
I made a great trade, I should be happy with my profit. That's that. Right now my mind is clouded by greed and regret. It's foolish and stupid.
Don't be sad, Seth. You done good.
Be happy with what you got. Don't kick yourself because you didn't get more.
I did the same thing with Burst the other day. Sold way way early. I had 300k coins that I bought a while back. We just have to learn from our mistakes. At least we still got profit :)

As DGB seems to be crashing down a bit, I'm feeling happier with my sell! Haha

Very good trade @SethLinson!! I would be dancing if I would have kept my DGB. Problem is I buy the rumor and sell the news so I made a nice profit but nothing like you did.

Good trade. You can't do any more than act on the information you have at the time. If you're trading short term, and you're not willing to hold through several dips to see something rise long term... best to take profit where you can. Nicely done.
