Circles is a decentralised Universal Basic Income platform based on personal currencies.
I've been playing with a similar idea with my partner for about a year now - although it would be a more community-based initiative, and the value is between individual transactions in a closed community.
I suppose believing in something like this makes me an idealist, a supporter of socialism, and a bit of a technocrat, but initiatives like this are what will save our future.
An economy built on individual trust is a powerful thing. A currency whose value is based on transactions between individuals in a community is priceless.
I like the idea too! An economy built on individual trust would require a lot of cooperation on individual levels and would bring unity back to communities. I would love to live in a community where there is trust in general. I envision a community where the adults can group together where there are tons of children playing, working together to grow organic foods, gather together to eat, enjoy evenings at a bong fire... I mean, they say it takes a village... but, these days, where is the village?
