5 Reasons Why Substratum is Revolutionary

Forget going to the moon, the ideas Substratum represent are revolutionary. Here’s my top 5 reasons (feel free to correct any inaccuracies):

1: DDoS Attacks Become Obsolete.

Now it’s unlikely this is going to happen on the launch of the Substratum network but once machine learning algorithms are implemented into the network which allow efficient and different paths to be taken by anybody connecting to a website, it means that DDoS attacks will no longer work. The algorithm could recognize a spam attack and reroute it to so many different nodes, it dilutes the signals and renders it useless. Unless the attacker is able to overwhelm the Substratum nodes themselves all at once, DDoS attacks won’t necessarily work with Sub. And that to me is amazing! I mean just recently Electroneum suffered a DDoS attack. And they were touting the best security in Crypto. If this aspect of Sub can be realized, it can save companies millions of dollars and remove a major cyber security threat that exists today.

2: Internet Censorship AS WE KNOW IT TODAY (it can still exist but it will need new ways) Becomes Obsolete.

Again, I’m not saying day one this happens, but with the growth of the network, we will see a day where citizens of censored countries will have reliable access to all information on the Internet. Which is insane to think about! Because of the fact that Substratum will also route internet traffic through different paths to sites that aren’t hosted on Sub, it means that anybody can access any website provided the network is able to route them. And since the network will change the routes and choose the most efficient paths, it will be near impossible for an entity to stop any one path. As the network grows, more paths become available and then it becomes like trying to stop water from flowing: it always finds a way.

The first two reasons alone IMO are worth a Nobel Prize. These two problems have plagued the internet for everyone in the world and if Sub can deliver, wow this is huge.

3: With a strong Substratum network able to learn which paths are the most efficient, this could mean faster internet speeds through optimization alone.

The Substratum network is poised to include learning algorithms to figure out the most efficient path for people trying to reach a website. So it can route you to the nearest nodes or take you on the fastest path which would increase efficiency and speed of the web. Now I’m not sure that it will make the internet 10x faster, it would be interesting to see the math, but having this self improving network that constantly optimizes will definitely increase internet speeds.

4: Decentralized web hosting alleviates companies from having to invest large amounts of money into renting or building their own server farm to host their own websites making the process more cost efficient.

This is essentially the core of Substratum and too many, it seems obvious but let’s not understate this point. This is big. Allowing companies to have these funds freed up will mean money better spent elsewhere (let’s hope) or greed. Either way, it will prove that there is definitely a market for a service like this, and it’s an amazing usecase of blockchain that we are seeing today. Not in 5 years when the tech is ready, in the next months we will see a powerful usecase of blockchain which is sure to inspire the masses. It may lead to other amazing business models for decentralization via blockchain. The future is bright.

5: If Crypto Pay reaches successful adoption, this could be a huge step for adoption of crypto currencies.

I think this last point speaks for itself. The easier it is for people to accept crypto as a payment method, the more likely it will be adopted especially as the network effect spreads the knowledge of Crypto to the world.

I’m not only excited about future profits with sub but I’m just excited to see this technology implemented into the world and see it work its magic!
