As promised a few of my best general bot configurations (I recommend using them as a starting point and edit based on your trading strategy and market conditions.)
Bot Setups
1) The "Standard" Bot, Long=Short, SO=BO (no Martingale)
Base Pairs: BTC and/or ETH - (should work for USDT and BNB too, but data is rare)
TP: 1.25% (between 1-1.5%), the percentage from total volume, base or quote is your choice
max safety trades count: 5-7
max active safety trades count: 1
BO=SO (no martingale)
Price deviation: 1% (5-7% drop covered)
safety order volume & step scale: 1
signal: TW strong buy composite (old: 15min)
24h volume: >100BTC
(notional) SL: 9-10%
-> changed the SL approach a bit lately:
Instead, I manually add more safety trades for deals that are more than 10% down under -> the Bot buys them at the actual lower price (so safety no. 6 not at -6%, but the actual -10% -> makes the DCA even more efficient)
active pairs: as much as your funds allow (for me: 80 --> roughly 2/3 of possible pairs)
calculating needed funds: BO size x 6 (max SO 5 + BO) x active trades per active trade (e.g. 20 active trades, BO=0.001 BTC this adds up to 0.12 BTC
-> the Bot assistant does this work for you
2) The "Martingale" Bot, SO>BO
Setup: same as above, except:
SO = 1.25x - 2x BO
safety order volume scale 1.25x - 2x BO
-> Higher Martingale approaches (like SO = 5-15x BO) are in my eyes for special (simple Bot) trades only
safety order step scale 1 (5-7% drop covered)
3) The "QFL" Bot
Base Pairs: All
TP: 1.6%, percentage from total volume (should be minimum, I will start A/B/C Bots with higher TP soon, for now the data is thin)
max safety trades count: 5-7
max active safety trades count: 1
-> For other settings see Bot 1+2
signal: QFL
24h volume: >100BTC
--> As QFL specifically looks for broken bases and the return to them, I will run the below Test Bots shortly.
3x BO=S0
a) TP 1.6%
b) TP 2.5%
c) TP 4.8%
3x Martingale (SO=1,5BO, Safety order volume scale 1.2)
d-f) same TP's as above
How much funds do I need to run these Bots and when does my subscription pay off?
My approach use composite Bots and all data is without any commission fee's, as I have a "Pro" plan, which cost me 100 USD/month.
Just to give you an impression what kind of gains I aim for, and at which point my commission is paid the following stats for compounded profit.
(BTW, I aim for 0.3% daily!! profit, more is a bonbon...)
0.3% daily profit --> 198% yearly profit
0.5% daily profit --> 517% yearly profit
1.0% daily profit --> 3778% yearly profit
--> I know, we talk about crypto, where everyone makes a lambo per month, but seriously to triple my money in a year....
And when does your subscription pay off?
Start with 1000 USD and 0.3% daily profit --> 94 USD profit (so the Pro plan may not be the right one for you)
Start with 4000 USD and 0.3% daily profit --> 376 USD profit (yeah, we start talking here)
Start with 8000 USD and 0.3% daily profit --> 752 USD profit (what do you waiting for?)
With a signal group or your own TA you reach a 1% daily profit -> Well, you don't even need 1000 USD to be profitable with Pro plan!
Remember that these gains describe just the first month, compounded every following month.
For now, I can't give an estimation for profit's, as I basically still search "the best" settings every new day, with every new piece of data. And the last couple of weeks haven't been (long) Bot friendly at all.
It will probably take a couple of months to determine an average for an optimized 24/7 running Bot with the above setup.
Great news you can back test strategies now before using live funds!
Why these settings?
My approach to using this Bot is as a scalping Bot, to deliver you a lot of little (percentage) profits in quick succession. As I stated before I don't chase good performing single coins, instead I try to play the whole bunch.
To understand what I did, you have to understand how I determine the performance of a bot. If you have a Bot with 1 active pair and a TP of 1% and this Bot had 1 successful trade in 24 hours, it gained 1%, right? Not in my understanding!
The Bot uses a selectable number of safety trades to average down the price (-> DCA (see in Definitions)). But by using these you need more funds for any given active trade to a max of BO+all SO. A 10 USDT BO trade with a max number of safety trades of 10 would in worst case use 110 USDT of your funds. With 110 USDT blocked your accomplished 1% of BO TP (0.10 USDT) decrease to a 0.09% net gain.
That's why I
a) measure the success of every bot in use by taking all used/blocked funds into the account.
b) tried to find the best number of max safety trades and the average!!! number of used safety trades in successful trades to reduce my allocated funds per active trade.
But that's also why I state the number of active trades to "as much as possible", as my approach doesn't work on single or little number trades, I need the big number of trades to undulate close around the calculated average, which I saw in my >40k trades so far as well as in my global data analysis. This is a thin line because by reducing the calculated needed funds below the above-explained theoretical maximum may let you run out of funds.
By now you can understand the two main goals I had, optimizing these bots:
a) Have no "unused" funds in your account, which do nothing and therefore give you no ROI.
b) Avoid having too many active trades, resulting in running out of funds, leaving the Bot unable to place SO trades or new trades at all.
woooow!! Muy buena informacion... LAS PONDRÉ EN PRACTICA!!!
