Is Coinmarketcap responsible for recent market crash?

Today Coinmarketcap made adjustment on how they calculate the medium price for all cryptocurrency excluding the Korean Exchanges. That resulted in medium price drop (actually the price was the same) that eventually led to panic and market crush.

100 Bilion dollars dip over small website correction! That is crazy!

Are we dependent on Coinmarketcap?
