One of the largest Hollywood talent agencies, United Talent Agency (UTA), has signed a contract with Larva Labs, a company known for developing the CryptoPunks NFT project, to use its intellectual property in the entertainment industry and branding.
"I would say that this is one of the first opportunities for intellectual property that has completely come from the crypto world to enter the broader entertainment space, and they deserve it," said Leslie Silverman, manager of UTA Digital Assets, in a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter. – They really hit the zeitgeist in an incredible way."
Under the terms of the agreement, non-interchangeable CryptoPunks tokens can be shown in films, TV shows, games and other areas requiring licensing. In addition, UTA is considering working with two other Larva Labs projects: Meebits and Autoglyphs.
Although the cooperation of a traditional talent agency, usually working with world stars, and an NFT project is remarkable in itself, this is not UTA's first experience in the cryptocurrency industry. This month, the company signed an agreement with the Rally project, specializing in the release of branded tokens that fans can spend on paraphernalia and exclusive content.
"We are excited to work with UTA for the benefit of the entire community associated with our projects," said Matt Hall, co — founder of Larva Labs. " This is not only an outstanding opportunity to attract wider attention to them, but also an opportunity to protect their growth and value in the long term."
Earlier, Visa announced the acquisition of NFT from the CryptoPunks collection.
