With a couple of goobers who got caught laundering 4.5 Billion in crypto from Bitfinex’s hack in 2016 now facing over 30 YEARS in prison and assets seized, the life of a crypto scammer is about to become much more difficult.
With AI entering the scene and several blockchain-based security firms growing, covering up an unerasable trail of crypto theft is soon going to be nearly impossible. This is due to the fact that EVERY transaction within the blockchain is recorded and transparent.
Unlike the corrupt banking system where bankers can easily hide cash assets, crypto wallets and all exchanges made between them are public.
And with powerful AI tools that can scan and piece together transaction strings a million times per minute, good luck hiding any crypto you have stolen, as there will always be a link found. This AI will also be used on scammers from the past, even a decade ago, as once again, all transactions are and have been, and always recorded in the blockchain.
Unless of course you take your crypto and move to the jungle, where you can barter it with the local wildlife for berries and tree bark, living a civilized life as a crypto-scammer is going to be difficult.
