CRYPTOCURRENCY....A MYTH??

Well..
I have been fascinated about cyrptocurrency and here is a question that keeps baffling me.
If these change or shift in technology would threaten the banking& financial system as they would become almost irrelevant with the emergence of transaction using crytocurrencies.
what are their plans for the industry,
Are they planning to just get crumbled??Or are the banks/system against these development????
