Is Cryptocurreny Just the 21st Century's Version of Ponzi Scheming?

While certainly intriguing, it is glaringly obvious that any digital currency is inherently corruptible. Case in point, this ransom malware sweeping the globe specifically targeting those with a cache of '1's & 0's currency' . . . Everyone wants to re-invent the Ponzi / Pyramid Scheme, and I cannot help but think this is just the 21st century's version...

The attack does not search for bitcoin wallet and try to steal the coins, but block computer data and ask for a bitcoin amount in order to unblock that information. If your bitcoin wallet is properly encrypted, there is no malware that can steal your bitcoins.

Ransom malware already existed before bitcoin, using another payment methods for asking money.

Good question @lanceman and you could be right. However, and you would understand this being a fellow 'silver stacker', is not the 'fiat currency system' the ponzi scheme and crytos merely the another means of escape? Something for us both to ponder I guess. SK.

I agree with you.... The digital currencies looks like a ponzi scheme in making... The interesting part is that none of the Governments have banned the digital currencies! Usually if it is setting up an alternative or more solid system, they would have banned it immediately!
