Am I Too Different From Others?

in ctp •  5 years ago

Today, I was watching recordings of @clicktrackprofit webinar which was held a night before at 2 AM Europe time (notice to the stream creator to think about other time for it! lol ) with @jongolson and @blainjones . It was interesting because I didn't understand a lot of stuff, so I was learning new things... and that's a great thing... :) :)

In one moment they have mentioned me as a person who asked people to create more content that I can curate in CTP Talk... As my username is a little bit hard to say every time, Jon has learned my real name and, as I noticed, like to say it often :) Anyways, my name is also a synonym to one really famous movie called Dude, Where's My Car? and you can check the short video to refresh your memory :)

When I was a kid, I hated my name, but really hated... I was living in the surroundings where it was very rare and almost nobody had it (like today... only in Hungary is different, but I didn't live there)... In my teenage days, I wanted to change it, but luckily, I didn't...

What changed from then? Well, I have noticed that the majority of the people that I first met almost always remember my name, just because it's different. On the other side, I usually forget almost everyone's name that I first meet, so I have to repeat it at least twice right away to remember it (shame on me). :)

Then, I have decided to use that as my advantage. Because of that, when someone is making any kind of list, my name is very rarely skipped... My name was the one that steps out from the many and it's made from me a "purple cow".

And if you want to succeed in any business you have to be different from others, and you have to make moves like no other. Only then, you will be noticed... and when you have others' attention and focus, you can do whatever you want, because they will listen and follow...

In the end, I was lucky to get a name that made me a purple cow, why are you different?

PS. It's not everything like that, but all the little things make a big picture... And you don't have to be ashamed if you are different... That is your advantage!

Guess we both have strange names. At least @blainjones got my name right...and @jongolson at the end 😂 it's not easy to pronounce so well done! And you have an awesome name never doubt it for a second!

Great post! Glad to know your real name too, and see your face. I still like that "power of hydrogen" username as it's pretty easy to remember by itself, although difficult to pronounce. 😄

Thanks... BTW. is that "power of hydrogen" something real? Because that was not my intention when I discovered that username 25 years ago :)

Aww, no need to worry: it's just hydrogen, not methane. 😉 Well, pH is real though it never goes past 14, so it can't ever be 1102. Yes, I was quite sure that "ph" didn't stand for "power of hydrogen" in your case. 🙂

Your name is Zoltan? Dude, that's epic!

LOL... Yes, it is... :)
