The Cuban people, used to being at the receiving end of punitive US policy, are once again showing their mettle by finding new, creative ways to maneuver in restricted commerce. Through decades of sanctions and interference in its economy, Cubans have always found a way to strive and survive under US imposed restrictions. Now, in the age of the internet, mobil broadband, and the proliferation of crypto currencies, it would seem embargo and sanctions are but a faint whimper of a former strangle hold.

As with the initial post 2007/08 financial chaos and the rise of Bitcoin, Cubans are showing us all that political and ideological borders become useless in a more connected world. Having financial autonomy and freedom is the root of all progress around the world. It is no wonder that the "Big Banks" have worked so hard to make crypto adoption so difficult. However, the crypto genie is out of the bottle and it is never going back in! I look forward to seeing how crypto will shape our world in the years and decades to come. Things will emerge we can barely imagine today.
