I know you have been reading very interesting (scary) things about shango , I know some of the interesting things may even make you fear.

Can you Calm down a little? shango should not be perceived as bad after all, just that the position he takes when enforcing justice may be very harsh .

Anything good about Shango ?

Shango still employs people directly or indirectly .

"Economic advantage of Shango"

In some parts of the world today there are shango priest and priestesses who has shango shrines that proffer solution to problems of some people.

Just like people go to the doctors and pay some consultancy fee so as people in our modern world today goes to shango priest for consultation and pay some consultancy fee as well.

Some traditionalists still prefer to even see a Shango priest than to see a medical doctor especially in regions where the worship of Shango is still very high.

When people are in need of interpretation of sacred dream like a woman having sex with an animal in the dream, someone dying in the dream or a woman giving birth, heavy rain fall, as so on.

Shango priest would consult the spirit of shango through esoteric communication and answers will be given.

In some cases sacrifices will be made to shango, the food offered to shango for sacrifices are bitter cola, fried maize, kola-nut, plantain chips.

sometimes a life He -Goat or she goat may be required by shango to avert an impending danger.

When the animals blood is sprinkled on the shrine the Shango, the priest takes a portion of the animal for sacrifice and other parts are given to the the consulter .

The people who play drums for Shango priests are also paid to play specially for the festival of the Shango god and for initiation ceremonies.

There are also special stones and calabash as well as other items that are used to represent Shango, those stones are sold, it is a source of income for the stone sellers.

When there are disputes amongst husband and wives, or land disputes Shango priest is consulted by parties and sometimes fines are paid to the Shango priest.

Shango priest may also prepare herbs to cure epidemics the makes life unbearable for its worshippers thereby generating revenue for the Shango priest.

Shango till today still has it's economic value despite the modernization.
