Large American companies became victims of a fraudster from Lithuania

Companies Google and Facebook were victims of payment fraud in the amount of $ 100 million, but most of the funds were returned.

Lithuanian Evaldas Rimasauskas was convicted of fraud using electronic means of communication, money laundering and theft of personal data under aggravating circumstances. Rimasauskas posed as Quanta Computer, the Taiwanese manufacturer of electronic products, whose customers are Google, Facebook and Apple.

An investigation conducted by Fortune magazine revealed that Rimasauskas sent false invoices to Facebook and Google, which paid the fraudster $ 100 million.
