Dad Tip of the Day: Encourage your kids to create things like forts, as there are many cognitive and social benefits.
When I was a kid, I loved making forts. It didn’t matter if it was a fort with chairs and blanks, a fort in a tree, or an igloo-type fort, it was always fun.
My kids now share that same love, and we often make different kinds of forts. I did some searching online and found a great article that explains the many benefits to forts for kids: https://www.paulaspencerscott.com/single-post/kids-forts
Creating forts, dens, hideouts, playhouses etc is a big part of a child’s healthy development
Teaches kids to be independent
Helps cognitive skills, like problem solving, planning and imagination
Teaches practical skills like building and construction
Inspires a love of the outdoors and learning about the natural world
Those are just some of the examples of the benefits of forts for kids.
Here are my kids and their cousins working on a log fort in the mountains:
So encourage your kids to create fun things like forts… it will do them a lot of good!
Thanks for stopping by today,
Brian

It is a beautiful activity, as a child I always played making a house with curtains and sheets.
