Dad Tip of the Day: Celebrate kids accomplishments, which will help them achieve new and greater things.

Kids need encouragement and praise to help grow their self-confidence in life. As parents, part of our role is helping them grow in many areas, including their personal capabilities.

While some things may seem little to us adults, recognizing and celebrating even little successes can help kids in their personal development. I found a good article with some practical tips on helping kids grow in their self-confidence through recognition and praise: https://www.greatschools.org/gk/articles/celebrating-achievements/

For my less than 1.5 year old, success comes in being able to do things on her own and grow in her independence. Here, Kendra was exploring and found a rock in the dirt, which she proudly hefted over her head:

Celebrating a rock find may not seem like much, but to her, it meant everything and inspired more exploration and courage.

Thank you for coming by today!
