Dad Tip of the Day: Sibling rivalry will exist and is healthy, but there are many things parents can do to help the children involved.
It is probably no surprise that kids get jealous, angry, offended, etc and can get into fights. There are many things that can contribute to sibling rivalry, such as competing for a parents attention, desiring toys the others have, trying to one up the other siblings, etc. Growing up, I certainly can point to many instances of fights that were a result of sibling rivalry.
Here is an instance of my daughter getting offended when my son dumped sand on her head (yes, he got in trouble!) as my son was upset that his sister was trying to grab his toy:
(Too cute right!)
Anyway, as parents, we need to help our children get along. I found a good article online with practical tips for parents to help their kids overcome and manage sibling rivalry, and here are a few of their tips: https://www.mottchildren.org/posts/your-child/sibling-rivalry
Parents should not play favorites with their kids
Parents should play the comparison game
Play games where kids can cooperate and not always compete
Have activities that each will enjoy, but be fair in the time spent
Listen to the kids and help them work though jealousy in their mind and actions
Celebrate each child’s differences
Do your best to help your kids have a great relationship with their siblings!
I appreciate you coming by today,
Brian
This is a very interesting post. I'm getting more knowledge from parents like you. Someday I will have kids and I really like to be prepared in advance.

Kids always want the best and they never be a losers in game. They always want to be a winner. If you always defeat your kids then they will be upset so we always make them winner. I watched a Will Smith movie named The Pursuit of Happiness where dad plays vollyball with his son and everytime he teach his son that his son is a better player than him and his son will be a good player.
