Daily Dose of Sultnpapper 10/14/18> New Math plus a book that I must share with you… yes; YOU.

The Novel...

How many of you have read the novel titled “Dwelling, The Novel.” written by author Doug Karr?

What do you mean you never heard of it?

Do I have to lead you folks around and show you all the good stuff and not just where to eat the best Texas BBQ?

I was never good...

So now you have heard of it and I suggest you go online and purchase it and give it read. I just finished reading it today, in the end I ended up paying $35 steem for it but, I never was good at bargain shopping.

I now know you...

I now know you can get the ebook Kindle version for a lot less than I paid but it was worth every ounce of steem in my opinion. On Amazon the paperback version sells for $14.95 USD.

I am not good...

I am not good at reviewing books; I tend to give away all the pertinent information about the story line and characters and all the high points of the plot. Normally when I get done reviewing a book you don’t need to read it since I have told everything there is to know about it, so this is not a book review. Simply a suggested book for your reading and one that I enjoyed.

I just wish...

Speaking of reviews though, I just wish that for once the bot that goes around reviewing steemit posts and then tells how the post ranks on their list and how many votes along with what amount of earnings the post should earn would be right when it comes to the Daily Dose.

The little pink pig...

I wish I could tell you the exact numbers of times that the little pink pig has come by and told me the Daily Dose has made their list. Yet haven’t any of those Daily Dose publications gotten anywhere near the upVotes and earnings that little pig said those Daily Doses deserved.

I can say without going back and tracking it down that I have received at least fifteen of these notices and upVotes from it.

I should have...

If I had all those earnings it has projected I should have earned I would be sitting in high cotton as we say here in Texas instead of the gutter of the curb looking at potholes. It may be just time that the artificial intelligence in that bot gets upgraded with some new math program, so it can more accurately predict just what the hell is going on around here.

More scary for...

What is, or should be, more scary for folks is that my Daily Dose columns are even being picked up by that bot and making their top 20 or 25 list. I can’t remember the exact number each day that makes the list, but for my writing and about things I write, making it on that list just proves that some major talent has left this platform or the bot is just totally guzbucked on how it selects the posts it ranks.

Cheap old bastards...

This bot isn’t some bot vote that can be bought either and used to try and enhance earnings, you folks know I don’t even self vote my own stuff let alone spend money on trying to trick people into thinking the Daily Dose is actually earning some steem and sbd. Cheap old bastards like me squeak when we walk because we are so tight when it comes to our wallets and money.

One more question...

I’ve got one more question for you today. How many of you are familiar with a new series that is currently in development that is called ‘Hardfork ‘ ?

Being developed for...

It is being developed for television and should be very instrumental in explaining just what crypto currency and the block chain are all about to the millions and millions of people who haven’t a clue about these things.

Is being funded with...

This project is being funded with crypto currency and has its home base right here on the steem block chain and you can help support it by following and upVoting their progress.

Names and faces you...

These people behind this project aren’t a bunch of amateurs either and the cast that has been but together for this project are names and faces you should recognize if you watch any television at all.

I’ll be the first to tell you that I didn’t recognize anyone of them but I don’t watch television and haven’t in years. I will be watching though when this series kicks off as I am a believer in block chain and crypto.

So get your butt...

Chances are you are a believer in those as well or you wouldn’t be on steemit here reading this so get your butt over to @hardfork-series and follow them and give them some much deserved support.

Their efforts are aimed...

Their efforts are aimed at making crypto and block chain more relevant and understood by the masses of people who haven’t heard of crypto or if they have, they have only heard of bitcoin and are convinced it is a scam.

New math time...

I said I only had one last question and I already have asked it so this isn’t a question. We have heard about “new math” for years and while we always hear about it we seldom see examples of it, sometimes I think it may not even exist since we seldom see it. So today I am going to share one new math problem that I know is correct, 1 + 1 = 1.

Old school math...

Now the old school math that I am used to would tell me that 1 + 1 = 2 but that is old school and we are well past old school now. So the first one ( 1 ) in that equation is the book, “Dwelling, The Novel “ and the second one ( 1 ) in that equation is Hardfork-series so when you add those two together you come up with one ( 1 ) that one being Doug Karr.

He is both...

He is both the author of the book and the visionary behind the Hardfork series. So, the new math really does work and Doug does too. He has assembled a great group of talented writers and actors to make Hardfork a very promising endeavor.

All of us here...

All of us here and on every other block chain and crypto currency have a lot riding on this series when it comes to helping drive acceptance of crypto and block chain. So do you, me, and Doug and his group a big favor and get behind the Hardfork project.

It is week eight if I remember right, but we aren’t going anywhere, me and Blondie. Joel is actually starting to win a couple converts but don’t tell Mrs.Papper.

Until next time,
@sultnpapper

Well. I followed Hardfork the Series and bought the Doug Karr book (on kindle. It's how I read most of the time). So I am at =1 too. Which is amazing because I am mostly a math stickler and normally would be guzbucked for even following such logic.

Heck. I had my TV on yesterday. It's baseball playoffs and I just can't let it be. I'll have it on today, too. It's getting an exceptional workout.

When I left for my summer jaunt I carefully protected my home electronics by unplugging the power strips from the wall. The day I got home I fired up my computer-or tried to. The power switch wouldn't answer the bell. It would be a month until I plugged my TV in. Which is sort of weird because summer is my big time to watch. When it gets to 115F by noon watching TV becomes an option. Unless you read or write, I guess.

My twice postponed walk with Sam on 'Little Cross Mountain' will almost undoubtedly happen today. The storm formerly known as Sergio left us some rain the last two days. So far in October we have gone from being 33% low on rainfall for the year to 100% above. Those numbers are pretty easy when you get as little rainfall as we do :)

So, my Sunday solidarity with you and Blondie is liable to be with TV on as the Cardinals are playing in Minnesota so an early game. The Cards are so miserable this year that if my walk makes me miss the start I'm way OK with that.

I'll make sure my Kindle is charged so that I can have it in hand when the Cards play. Might as well try to make a positive out of the time. I'll get a start on Dwelling.

Good Sunday to you my friend.

I am in the middle of reading the Dwelling and I am really enjoying it. I will have my eyes open for the Hardfork series too. Doug Karr really is quite talented. I can't wait to see more of his work. Nice to see that Blondie is sticking to her guns. You too. I wonder how long it will take for them to come around?

I can tell you this much, Sunday morning church is getting to be a lot easier in my PJ's than in the church pews, and I like this Joel's style of preaching. For a guy who never wanted to be a preacher and who basically had to step in and hold the church together when his father died unexpectedly he has really mastered the art of preaching. Not to mention he has turned that little congregation of Lakewood Church into a massive congregation that gets 20,000 people to church services on Sunday morning at their physical location here on the southwest side of Houston, plus all the people who watch on television each week.
I am not big into reading novels, just like @thekittygirl, I like reading about things in nature or history. But I did really enjoy the Dwelling and knowing that Doug is from New York and he grew up there I can't help but think that he knows a lot of what takes place in the novel from some type of first or secondhand knowledge of it from some point in his growing up.
It is supposed to be fictional but everything sure is very realistic and set right there in his backyard so to speak.
Thanks for taking my suggestions, I am glad you are enjoying it.

Isn't Dwelling phenomenal? Thank you so much for spreading the word @sultnpapper!

Yes, it is and when Doug first started releasing it I read chapter one and then got sidetracked and by the time I knew it chapter 13 or 14 was out and it was taking a while to get them released.
I have trouble reading fiction novels to begin with and so I told Doug that I would read the book and support the cause with $1.00 steem for each chapter , which would end up being far more than what my little upVote on each chapter would be.
So I finally cleared some time on Saturday and spent the late morning and afternoon outside with dog reading Dwelling. Every now and then I would glance over at the downed big old oak tree that I should really had been cutting up but that took a backseat to the book. I needed to make good on my promise to Doug. So I got the book read and I got the steem transferred and since by that point I was in full Doug Karr mode I went ahead and used him for the Daily Dose as well.
I would have mentioned all the other folks, yourself especially, with regard to the Hard Fork series but then that would have messed up my new math equation where 1 + 1 = 1 , but trust me, I will be doing more promoting of Hard Fork and you and the rest of your compadres will surely be listed, that is a talented group of people working that project.
Thanks for stopping by, your support of the Daily Dose is very much appreciated.

Wow, how kind of you to offer 1 Steem for each chapter. That story really pulls you in and gives you a glimpse of what it's like to have lived through that moment in time. The entire HardFork team appreciates your support!

I'll have to send you a copy of my novel - https://www.amazon.com/Alarm-Clock-Dawn-Vance-Walton/dp/150851335X

The sequel Truth Is Stranger is about half done but is on hold for the foreseeable future.

That would be great on your book, do you want me to send you an email or what?

If you email me ([email protected]) your address I can send you out a hardcopy.

You have a great knack for telling a tale.

I started following the hardfork-series and will catch up on it very soon. thank you for the information given in such an interesting way!!

Well thank you Snook. I very much appreciate you following HF , I have to admit I have some personal motivation in pushing people to get on board and follow them besides it being just a great project.
I have been lobbying to get "guzbuck" into the lexicon in that series and it might just have a snowballs chance in hell of being used at some point. Besides, I like the way Doug and Eric write, these guys are very talented.

Congratulations! This post has been chosen as one of the daily Whistle Stops for The STEEM Engine!

You can see your post's place along the track here: The Daily Whistle Stops, Issue 281 (10/14/18)

Thanks so much for all your amazing support @sultnpapper!!!!

You are most welcome Doug, I am a little embarrassed that it took me so long to getting around to reading it and delivering on my promise but better late than never is what I have been told. I look really forward to the HF project that you folks have coming, I know it will be a good one.

I haven't read a novel in maybe 15 years or more. I prefer non-fiction and find the real world a fascinating-enough place. But, I might check out the series once it airs, if it is on a major network (I don't have cable-TV, so all that HBO-crap is not viewable here). Thanks for the heads-up!

I am pretty certain that you will be able to watch the series right here on the block chain too. As for the novel, it seemed very real to me, and the author admitted that parts of the book actually came from some time he spent in court as a juror. That is as real as it gets for fiction.

This post has received a 1.56 % upvote from @drotto thanks to: @sbi-booster.

Oh yes, I have been following @hardfork-series, can't wait to see the series once it's aired! I follow the author @ericvancewalton as well, such a sincere and downright nice young man! Thank you for the recommendation mr Papper, will order the ebook as you've piqued my interest and @cecicastor's comments just confirmed it's a must read as well!
Nice to go to church in your PJ's hey ;);)

As a follower of @followforupvotes this post has been randomly selected and upvoted! Enjoy your upvote and have a great day!

love your daily dose, i love novel, but our language, god bless you and your work.

Thank you. Not sure what you mean by "but our language"? Could you help me out here and explain that part to me? I get the rest but that part has me a puzzled. Thanks for your ongoing support of the Daily Dose it is very much appreciated.

howdy sir sultnpapper! thanks for informing us of that book, I hope these visionary tech guys can convince people to use the Steem blockchain!

This digital currency world we are moving too doesn't need to belong to the global banking industry of central banks and any country or countries. The only substance behind the so called "money" is the people.
It will be a tough fight as the bankers are to consumed with having control over the world. The next WW may very well be the common man fighting the banking empires of the world.

I generally read non-fiction too - I rarely read fiction. Not sure why. Though you've done a good job of selling Dwelling, so if I ever finish the pile of non-fiction books I'm reading at the moment I might look it up.
I got my first visit from the TrufflePig recently. It's a curious thing - I'm not sure what to make of it. But don't sell yourself short – you deserve to be up there!

I do know this much, it runs on artificial intelligence, AI, and it utilizes some formulas based on word usage and occurrence in everyday language, other than that the only other thing I know is that if you see a post the seems under valued and you would like to get the Pig's take on what it should be you can summon it to take a look by just typing the name @ (and then) trufflepig in the comment section, I didn't want summon it here or I would have just done it all like you normally when you are acknowledging someone and it would have shown up.
I made the mistake of typing it's name in the comments section one time , the first time it showed up on one of my daily doses and it came and said we have already been here and here is what we found and listed all the same stuff again. So it was a little embarrassing and also educational at the same time.
Thanks for the confidence boost, much appreciated.
If you ever do get a chance to read the Dwelling it is a good story.

Goodness - I'm so glad I left the @ out, or I might have summoned the Pig! Haha. Steemit is a strange place sometimes.

Indeed it is.
