This is the Western BBQ Pork Ribs style. Grilled to perfection and topped in their house special sauce, they specially created for this dish.
Served with golden french fries. The Ribs are thick and juicy. Very delicious and tasty and will definitely go back for more.

This is the Asian Pork Ribs style dish called Bak Kut Teh. Found in countries like Malaysia, Singapore and some parts in Thailand. As this is a Teochew dish, i am sure it is popular where a large Teochew Community exist. The pork ribs are cooked in thick stock, normally from pre packed spices. Some places add Tau Pok (fried bean curb), chinese black mushroom, button mushroom and plenty of whole garlic added to the broth. In Singapore they served with Youtiao,.or Chinese fried churros. This is a long golden fried strip of dough. Lovely as it is crispy when eaten hot. We dipped into this Bak Kut Teh dish to absorb the broth and eat while it is hot.
Bak Kut is Pork Ribs in teochew and Teh means Tea.
This particular dish is too oily as can be seen on the photo. Not well presented as there were no garnish on top. Expect this to be served in a claypot, topped with parsley. Also not peppery enough. Not likely to eat this again.

The bak kut teh looks so tempting. Its been a long time since I had that. A very flavorful soup. Thanks for sharing the photo, makes me think of having a bowl of the soup.

Yes it is tempting but not as nice as the others i have eaten in Singàpore. If you have the opportunity to go to Singapore, do try it over there.

I miss the Bak Kut Teh in Malaysia!

Are you from Malaysia? If so hello neighbour. I am from SIN but now residing in Australia. Yes most of the packet spices comes from Malaysia. Famous and popular for Bak Kut Teh.

Hello my neighbour! I was same as you residing in Australia now too. I like both Msia and Spore version, one spicy one no spicy haha!
