In this post I will teach you how to cook UTAN BISAYA which is so nutritious since it is made of vegetables.
What is UTAN BISAYA?
Utan bisaya is a filipino dish , taken from our ancestors , made up of variety of vegetables, green leafy vegetables and also rootcrops.
In my recipe this is the ingredients used and its benefits to our health to maintain healthy lifestyle and also to have a longer life.
1. VEGETABLES
These are the squash, arabon (rootcrop), and okra mixed each other.
Benefits
Eating vegetables as a healthy diet help to reduce chronic diseases.These are low in fats and calories and also it has no cholesterol content which is good to our body to maintain a vital role for our health. These are primarily source of pottassium, dietary fiber and vitamins.
2. Alugbati leaves
If you are trying to loose few pounds of weight, alugbati has the responsibility for it. Eating alugbati leaf provides fiber which helps to prevent constipation and might reduce diabetes and heart failure problems.
3. Lemongrass
Lemongrass helps to relief stomach disordera, insomia and also a good source of antioxidants.
It also helps your skin moisture to be good.
If you have fungal infections , lemon grass is a good cure .
4. Malunggay
The number one benefits of malunggay is to lower your blood sugar levels. Effective also to treat diabetes. Fights malnutrition. Also malunggay could help everyone to be away from cancer. For mother, it also enhance or supply milk for babies.
5. Tomatoes
These are the major source for antioxidant - lycopene which is purely good for the heart.
6. Condiments
This helps to give taste to the food.
So now I am going to teach you on how to cook the UTAN BISAYA.
Note that all the utensils and ingredients are well cleaned, well washed and sliced.
1. Boil water in a pan. The ratio of the water to your ingredients is proportional to each other.
2. Once the water is already boiled, it is time now to put the mixed vegetables. Let it boil until it becomes soft and delicate.
3. If the vegetables are now soft, put the Alugbati leaf and the lemon grass as well to give fragrance to the food.
4. Once the alugbati leaf is already soft put the malunggay and the tomatoes. Mixed in the pan.
5. Time now to put the condiments according to your desired taste.
6. Ready to serve .
Tips: It is also bettet to have dried fish paired to the UTAN BISAYA to be more delicious in the table.
I practice these thrice a week during lunch for the children's healthy lifestyle.
