Tunisian brik

Today i prepared brik..It is probably the most famous and traditional Tunisian dish. Most restaurants and hotels have it on their menu, and some street shops as well. It is generally served as the second course during Ramadan, which is the main reason behind its popularity.

There are dozens of brik recipes . Here is the one that i prefer ;
Ingredients:
10 sheets brik
1 large potato , boiled and peeled
2 eggs
1 (5 oz.) can tuna (in water)
3 oz. grated cheese
½ bunch parsley , finely chopped
A few mint leaves , finely chopped
Salt
Pepper
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Lemon (for garnishing)

instructions

1)prepare the sheets of brik. They are usually sold but i prefered to prepare them bymyself.

2)Place some of the filling on one side. Fold the brik over several times to form a triangle shape .

  1. Deep fry 3 to 4 briks at a time until briks are golden borwn, about 5 minutes.

    Serve with lemon or even harissa.
