I realize that this album is dated for more than an entire year after the last one I posted. However, between those times, there were other events I'd photographed on film which never made it to print. The rolls were lost before processing could happen. Also, aside from shooting photos I also shot video, so that time was covered, but I don't feel it qualifies for this daily project.
So, we jump forward to October 12, 2003. The first event following the purchase of my first DSLR. Frankly, I think it's quite obviously that these photos were taken by a beginner. After having shot on film for the previous 4 years, I was still blown away by the fact that I could take photos just like on my 35mm SLR and just load them into the computer. Goodbye scanning. Of course, now in 2017 it seems archaic but I remember clearly how amazed I was back then.
I think you'll find that as we progress through the years of these party pics, you'll see a progression in my skill level as well. I still hadn't discovered shooting in RAW format yet, nor had I even evolved past simple brightness/contrast adjustments and discovered basic leveling in Photoshop. At this point, it was shoot > transfer to PC > resize > upload to gallery. And this was pre-Myspace, so I was paying for website hosting just to have an image gallery.
All images taken with a 1st Gen Canon EOS Digital Rebel (300D) and a 18-55mm kit lens.
Nice shots, thanks for sharing #keepsteemin :)
