in dailyten •  7 years ago

It is arguably true that the only time an average person engage in thinking is when he is confronted with a problem. Challenges and problems has a way of shaping our worldview of things. Only critical positive thinking of the challenging situation can give a better light rather than a prejudiced perspective. This is because positive anything is better than negative nothing.

It's often said that man is but the product of his own thoughts and what he thinks, he becomes. Thoughts are powerful and it is from our thoughts the world is made. Someone once said “more gold has been mined from the thoughts of men than on the surface of the earth”. This is true because there's no limit to the fluidity of our minds that produces these thoughts. This is because man only occupies a small space in the universe of his mind.

For what it's worth, the vastness of our mind can be explored by developing a critical thinking skills. Yes, thinking is a skill and it is lifetime. One of the powerful media through which we develop that ability that challenges our thinking is quotations. And it is because of this, I bring to you today's timely words of wisdom

In defence of an average person...
I think this is so because, not all problems are predicatable and they may hit the average person in different folds. So they wait for problems to come before searching for a solution.

However, if you're not thinking all the time, you're dead.

I like the well selected quotes, especially the one by Jean Jacques Rousseau which decribes the average person.
