Caporales is a folk dance from Bolivia, created and presented to the public for the first time in 1969 by the Estrada Pacheco brothers, who were inspired by the character of the Caporal de la saya. The dance has strong African roots in its style, and is typical of the area of ​​Los Yungas, in the department of La Paz.1

The men's original clothing consisted of: whips, loose shirt, belt or belt, military cut trousers, boots and whip, while the woman wore a wide-sleeved blouse. Long skirt that has been shortened to a minipollera, shoes and the characteristic hat type Borsalino or also known in Bolivia as a cholita hat.
