Labyrinth the board game, a review

I had the luck of playing this sweet David Bowie board game recently.

David Bowie is a character on the board, but he is not playable. He just moves around the board pulling all sorts of moves.

It's a turn based cooperative game where Sarah must defeat David Bowie (Jareth, the Goblin King) with the help of Hoggle, Ludo, and Sir Didymus. Players travel around a board facing all sorts of things from the film as they search for the key to the interior where they must fight against several boss creatures before facing David Bowie. Whoever is playing Sarah must recite the poem by heart; make sure you play with a mega fan.

Sarah must reach David Bowie before the thirteenth hour or the baby will be turned into a goblin.

David Bowie's face appears throughout the board just like how his face appears throughout the film.

The game was more difficult than we anticipated. David Bowie appeared and smashed me at one point. I had to fill in the missing lyrics or lose some wit and be banished to the oubliette.

I got caught out on the last one.

We got absolutely thrashed by David Bowie and his minnions. We made a last attempt for David Bowie with no room for mistake. But we failed...

The baby was turned into a goblin.
