We all live our lives from day to day, we try and plan as best we can for the future but unfortunately the realities of life often intrude in our comfortable world.

We all want the same from life, love, enough to eat, a roof over our head and good company. For the rest every additional pleasure is a luxury.
We choose our friends with whom we are comfortable, we enjoy their company and I think in many ways we take them for granted. None of us likes to entertain the idea that they are only on loan to us and that at any time may be taken away by circumstances beyond our control.
We use our knowledge to to make life bearable, we avoid people who would upset our equilibrium and as the years pass we become happy with the paradigm we have created. We manage our world like a gardener manages his garden. We remove the things that cause pain and carefully tend our mental landscape. We become more set in our ways and try to avoid anything that would upset the balance.
Life unfortunately does not work like that. Our best plans can be dealt a blow from unexpected sources. Nature tends naturally to edge towards chaos, anything we build and develop will inevitably break down.
What I have written is what has been playing on my mind for the last few weeks. I have once again lost someone whom I was close to. The changes I have experienced have made me introspective, I know that we are mortal but it is only when you personally experience loss that the truth hits home. I said goodbye a few days ago, never realising that that was the last goodbye.
How does one readjust to the new circumstances? I know that death is inevitable but at times like this I wish that I was on a lower plane of existence where I didn't have the knowledge of death. In the end these feelings will pass and acceptance will come and I will rewrite the future without those that have passed, until the next time.

Very well written post. I am so sorry to hear you lost another loved one. Unfortunately, if we become a certain age it happens more frequently. My parents are about your and @jaje ages and I see it with their friends. My parents had to deal with the loss of my sister at the age of 48. As Christians, the only comfort we have is that we know where our friends and loved ones are. Their memories in our hearts, keep them alive at least in our hearts although it is painful, it is something to hold on to. xx
