Why Steemit will fail like so many other alternative social media platforms before it.

The Steemian Express Train has taken a turn down a lonely selfish road that many platforms like it before have ventured astray from the light that is decentralization.
Youtube, Twitter, and Reddit have recently produced large numbers of former users that now wish to find a new way to share their original content ( and possibly make some money for your effort/time ) but don't want to 'shuck and jive' for advertisers or large groups of Steem users whom simply agree or disagree with a post or idea/opinion and want to promote or censor it.
Many hoped Steemit would be the safe haven they had been looking for but were soon disappointed when 'Whales' or 'Power User's' could with one click down vote any post they made into oblivion.
Early in the game for Steemit but already certain individuals hold more power and share of the voting. It is grossly imbalanced and Steemit has only a fraction of the users that Facebook, Twitter or Youtube have so one can only imagine this problem increasing as new users follow and feed more Steem Power to the 'Whales' in order to feed off their scraps. Censorship, greed and power drive this engine and even the blockchain can't save you when you turn the train onto that track. Goodluck to all fellow Crypto Currency enthusiasts... but I would ask you to think twice before calling yourself a "Steemian". Peace.
