TLDR: Twitter has suspended my account. I do not have ability to download the archive of my images. You think it is your data? Twink twice...
Back in a day I was able to log in to Twitter.
Now I cannot do this anymore.
The URL says something about consent flow
and I believe it has something to do with GDPR...
Back in a day I was able to download my half-arsed Twitter archive with no images. So you think you own your data? Think twice... Twitter has played a major role in my online identity - same username on Instagram, LinkedIn, GitHub, Reddit, Hacker News, Telegram - pretty much everywhere on the internet. Next thing you know you are banned for life and it's a good time to reflect. YEAH... Decentralize everything! No centralized services, no trusted third party.
I would like to obtain my images from the past:
13.4MB
archive does not contain any images, only tweets in the text form
I would like to obtain copy of my archive, actual archive. With actual images...
Here is the situation that got @stefek99
banned:
Maybe Twitter should be treated as utility company?
In certain countries cannot cut-off the water, even when homeowner does not pay the bill.
Either option is too extreme, I believe there should be some balance - for instance - give the first warning first.
Would be nice to have my identity back, on the other hand - f### them all - decentralize everything - it's not about me, have bigger fish to fry...
Will mention that to @jack
and @eff
, maybe some people will wake up, but seriously - I'm on my own path, thank youniverse for the lesson...
