Odderøya

Odderøya is one of the beautiful islands here around Kristiansand in Norway.

It’s also one of the closest islands to the mainland, you just have to go over a bridge and you are there!

In earlier times Odderøya was a naval base, today it’s a recreational area.

In the 1830’s it was used as a quarantine harbor with the largest quarantine station in Northern Europe. Ensuring sailors wouldn’t bring dangerous diseases into the city of Kristiansand.
