DeepOnion, what a catchy name!

Back Story

I have been an investor in cryptocurrencies since BitCoin almost hit the 5000$ mark back in the beginning of October. At the time I didn't now much about ALT coins just that BitCoin was something that seemed to ahve a bright future ahead. The following months was full of the crypto hype and I found a lot of interesting ALT coins but never managed to make any "big bucks".

But I learned a lot and found that there was a lot of information on Youtube and quickly identified some people that are now my favourtes, such as: "DataDash", "Crypto Bobby" and "Coin Mastery"to mention a few. SO how did all of this lead me to DeepOnion?!

The Discovery

One day I was browsing Youtube, jumping from video to video looking for something new in the crypto space that I hadn't found yet. I ended up in a Youtube live feed of a Crypto Trading Bot that apparently was using the API of Bittrex to do some automatic trading. I thought that seemed interesting so I stayed to watch.

I soon noticed that it wasn't very interesting to follow in real time so instead I started to focus on the live chat. Normally i ignore the chat since it is hard to have a conversation with so many people writing at once. But for some reason I felt like watching and people where discussing their favourite investments and such. I saw several different names, many I recognized and many I didn't. Suddenly one name popped up: *DeepOnion. Someone was talking and saying that this was the next big thing and you could make money just by participating in the community.

It wasn't anything I hadn't heard before something about the name stuck with me: DeepOnion. I started to think about the Onion-network and TOR sites. What could this coin have to do with them?! O knew that a catchy name can take you a long way as an ALT coin, since attracting quick interest is important in the crypto world.

I started doing research, quickly found the DeepOnion Homepage and started reading up on the coin. Turns out that it really had to do with the TOR network and anonymity on the network. Since I knew that privacy is a hot topic in the crypto space and on the internet in general I immediately became interested. Reading more on the homepage I discovered that I cuold earn ONION tokens just by joining the community, being an appreciated contributor and taking part in the Airdrop.

The DeepOnion Community and My First Airdrop

I hadn't really joined a crypto community before except for Steemit, but I immediatly like the people involved in the DeepOnion Community. There where many helpful articles/threads for beginners and new people were very welcome to join. I quickly tried to make myself a contributing member of the forum to earn my first 100 ONIONs to be able to take part in the Airdrop which happens every week.

At the time ONIONs was worth a little less than 1$ so that meant I had to contribute 100$ worth of effort. I thought this would take forever, since normally it is really hard to earn anything just by contributing to a community (all newbies on Steemit know what I am talking about). But already after two weeks work I had managed to accumulate my 100 ONIONs through articles and threads and I was able to join the airdrop earning myself a free 7 ONIONs. It might not sounds like much but at this time ONIONs was worth >3$ and that means I got more than 20$ for free.

So far I have been able to participate in the Airdrop for a second week, earning 10 ONIONs, and also earn some more ONIONs through my contributions in the community. I now have more than 200 ONIONs and with todays price that is more than 600$ in total.

It might not sound much to some people but considering my investment into crypto is around 1000$ to start with this is almost a doubling of my investment portfolio. And all this was done in four weeks time.

I would never recommend anyone to invest in something that you don't first DYOR (Do Your Own Research) on but take your time and check out DeepOnion. I hope someone that sees this article, has the stamina to read my story, will go out and learn more about DeepOnion and eventually join the community.
