Psalms 7:10 My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.
In times of uncertainty, difficulties or attacks, Christ is our defense. Most times, we need to be defended from ourselves. We need to be defended from poor decisions, greed, selfish acts that can deprive us of favour from God and men. Brethren, if God doesn't defend us from self, we are of all men most miserable. It's expedient to understand that before we cry for defense from the enemies, we must be defended from our own self-inflicted wickedness.
When we are upright in heart, we open door to the Almighty God to defend us. Thus, the sure way to be defended and delivered from evil is to be inwardly pure and blameless. Even in the natural world, nobody want to defend a wicked person. Thus, in God's family there's peace for the upright and destruction upon the wicked.
Check yourself, are you upright enough for God to be proud of you and defend you? Is what people do to you the same thing you did to someone else in the past?
Make a decision to be upright today and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Dear Lord, thank you for giving us the privilege to enjoy your defence and salvation. Please give us the grace to be upright in heart at all times, in Jesus name. Amen.
